"Rabbit Hole" is my favourite of the new songs they've released. Can't say any of them have really stuck with me however. I'm still going to check out the new album but I get the feeling it'll highlight just how important Tom was to their songwriting.

Blink 182 and songwriting don't belong in the same sentence.

I liked them during the Enema of the state era. Lost interst soon after that album. Definitely their best album, and the best pop punk album of all time in my opinion (a dubious honour for some I'm sure). Shame they followed it up with their worst album. I think that's their only poor record though. Neighborhoods is probably their second best. I listened to it on the way to work this morning and it's got loads of great songs.

I think this next one may end up being up there for me. It feels fun to me again, something self titled and Neighborhoods sorely lacked.

here, i'm too lazy to look it up and i'm pretty sure it's all complicated and stuff but is matt skiba still part of blink 182? or have something to do with them? i enjoy alkaline trio a heck of a lot but i shall speak no more of them as this is not the pop punk thread for that either way this is probs their best song, imo: (if you want to know the best alkaline trio song *linky* ) it's okay, i thought that when i was a teenager too nah, i'm not their biggest fan (tho a pop punk fan for sure) but some of their songs are proper bangers; like foo fighters except i could easily listen to a blink 182 album in full :D Blink 182 are shit loads better than shite like Bowling For Soup or Sum 41 or New Found Glory or Fall Out Boy . . . he calls himself "mr acceptable" yet post shit like this and honestly is cruising for another demotion. 10/10 for audacity but oooofft

Which one of those 4 bands do you enjoy ? Is it bowling for soup ? all of them, to some extent, but (old) fall out boy, (most) new found glory, and i am not against the odd bit of sum 41 and good ol' bowling for soup, naw, not at all.

Initially I think they just considered him a stand in. I think he's my problem with this latest material. Tom had a distinctive voice whereas Matt is a bit bland in comparison. As far as best song goes, any one of the following would get my vote (spoiler tagged so as not to clog the thread up with youtube vids): Always Wendy Clear Carousel Love Is Dangerous When We Were Young Ghost on the Dance Floor

I thought Wishing Well was the best song on Neighborhoods.
I was never a fan of Tom's voice, I thought Mark was much more my style.
I enjoy new guys voice more, maself.
Also, enjoy all the bands Masto listed.

Some Sum 41 is ok.
I always preferred Marks voice too.
The only Blink album I like is Take Off Your Pants and Jacket.
Fave songs = 1 Anthem 2 2 The Rock Show 3 One Good Reason.

Blink 182 are shit loads better than shite like Bowling For Soup or Sum 41 or New Found Glory or Fall Out Boy . . . If you've never heard Sum 41's Chuck album, check it out. It's their most metal album (the guitar player who left the band right after this album is a big a Metallica fan, and metal fan in general). There's also a song called The Bitter End that's pretty much a tribute to Battery.

Deryck pretty much based his stage presence on Billie Joe though.

Blink 182 are shit loads better than shite like Bowling For Soup or Sum 41 or New Found Glory or Fall Out Boy . . . Heretic. All those bands get BTFO by Sum 41. I love blink, but let me know when they make an album as amazing as Does This Look Infected?

Shall we just go with this as the pop punk thread?
To be fair, not sure a ton of those bands are still relevant. And a band like Fall Out Boy ended up far from still being pop punk.

The only pop punk I like is Green Day (and The Offspring if they fall in this category).
