Definitely go see the Korkeasaari zoo, and if you're into amusement parks, then you have to go to Linnanmäki. Also, the Hietaniemi beach is a damn fine place on a hot day.

Thanks Jokk1 and Jayzon :)
Suomenlinna Sea Fortress was on my radar and an option I was considering. Lots of ideas from you both to check out. Wish I was had more time to spend there. Ah well, is a reason to go back!

Just have to wait until I can. Between all my appliances dying on me and moving... have to prioritise (boring!)

Got a ticket to see Accept in September. This will be my second time seeing them and their new album will be out then. Haven't seen a band in ages, should be good.

So Linkin Park cancelled their Manchester show as the Arena still isn't ready after the terrorist attack. So that's off the calendar. Morbid Angel and Cradle of Filth have announced some shows for later this year, so calendar is currently looking like (some I'm still unsure of):
Jul 15 - blink-182 (? - Liverpool) Aug 19 - Miranda Lambert (Manchester) Sep 29 - Satyricon (? - London) Oct 04 - Tori Amos (London) Oct 05 - Tori Amos (Manchester) Oct 06 - Tori Amos (Glasgow) Oct 28 - Metallica (Manchester) Nov 02 - Cradle of Filth (Manchester) Nov 14 - Helloween (? - London) Nov 15 - Alice Cooper (Manchester) Nov 16 - Morbid Angel (Manchester) Dec 04 - Marilyn Manson (Manchester)

Haha, apologies. That'd be impressive for CoF, selling out a show in around 24 hours. Pretty sure there's some shows on o2 pre-sale. Have a gander if you have access.

Me and my daughter finally gonna see Paul McCartney. Missed out last time and can't even recall what year that was, but I would have been with friends, not kids.

Did you have to sell the house to get those tickets? She just blew all her cash on a trip interstate so I had to sell it twice. Yep, pretty pricey and we're not front and centre thats for sure

I got Platinum tickets for Perth AUD$250 each. they aren't near the stage but the venue isn't that big. approx. 23,000. I'm disappointed how many tickets are Diamond, you can still buy them here in Perth. my seats are in block C6

I don't know? but if you look it's only 1 block at the side. something tells me there won't be as much beer sold at McCartney's concert then there was at Guns N' Roses. I mean, a guy walked over chair in front of us with a beer crate during the show I'm thinking dude, these tickets cost way too much. can't you wait till after the gig?

Ours were same platinum price but we are going to Melb for the show and sitting to the side and off the floor. (so will need to pay for travel and accomodation again too) Was disappointed with the options I had but after trying many times on the day and checking again on the days following, I feel I got the best seats I was able to. The closer options had restricted viewing warnings so wasn't prepared to take that risk. Its a good point you make about capacity - AAMI Park has 30,500 so a little bigger. How fast did these shows so sell? Seems it happened very fast, they announced more shows before the public sales, so presales were popular.

I got my tickets on the 28th of June through Paul's website. he had a pre-sale that started on my birthday (the 27th) and I didn't know as it was my birthday on the 27th June I was trying to stay off the computer, I'd been checking his tour page the previous days and there was no link up. the pre-sale on his website started 3pm my time (Perth) on the 27th. I got my tickets 25 hours later!! only reason I found out was because a guy in Auckland posted on facebook that he already had his tickets through the fanclub. I was like "fanclub?" he must mean Paul's site Upcoming Toursso I went there and thankfully the pre-sale link was still up with the code. I took the first Platinum seats that I was offered.

I knew about that pre-sale via his website but I was out where there was little to no coverage. I tried signing up at one point and it wouldn't accept my answers to the maths questions (yes, I got them right!) so gave up and had to wait til I was in an area where the phone would work. Not complaining - being out in the never never land without a phone is way more enjoyable than any concert will be

Yep big Beatles fan, I listen to them and Simon and Garfunkel a lot more than I listen to Metallica. Have been a fan since I was very young and dissected their music and solo stuff as a got older then introduced them to my kids before a school influence decided what was cool to listen to

Yeah, the travel to Melb thing for bands is something I got used to a while back. Makes a show all the more expensive but always good to take a few days off work. Ashes is the reason apparently (will the Aussie team even play?) but yes always cool to see Adelaide get a mention in a Beatles book as the biggest turnout during Beatlemania in the world. There's actually a lifesize Beatles cutout sitting on the balcony of the townhall, not sure how long its been there but I just spotto'ed one day driving through the city.

So I saw Anathema tonight and they were great.
There was some drunk asshole shouting "SLEEPLESS" over and over after pretty much every song. It was kind of funny at first and got a laugh out of Vinny but quickly got extremely annoying. At one point Vinny asked him "How would you like it If I went over to your house drunk and shouted at you to do something you did when you were 17?" At another point Danny played a reggae version of the Sleepless riff. Then near the end of the show, before playing the final song of the set (Fragile Dreams) they saw that the Sleepless guy had left, so they literally just busted out Sleepless in full right there. It was amazing.
Also Danny ranted about health care.
