I saw Richie Sambora and Orianthi the other night. I'm a Bon Jovi / Sambora tragic from before all the MTV hits so I was stoked to hear he was touring. Ticket price was high so I held off and got in 1/2 price. While I was just stoked to be seeing him play again, the show felt like it was gonna be a bit of a fizzer as soon as I walked in. Not many people around, no excitement or hype, just felt bland. So grabbed a beer and got nice and close but after 2 songs he left the stage so the blondey could play a few. I want to tell you how much fun I had and how cool it was when they traded solos, etc but in reality it was a poor show. I almost felt sorry for him because this is worlds away from where he was only a short time ago. Maybe I missed the best bit, but it says a lot when I left a good spot near the stage to grab another beer and then spent 20 minutes outside the theatre chatting to the St Johns fella (though he was not a stranger) instead of quickly getting back in there to see what he'll play next. Orianthi was a bit bimbo-ish. Stop saying "like" and "seriously", because, like, I just can't take you seriously when you, like, do that.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get tickets for Iron Maiden. This sucks fucking dick. I'm here trying to buy them off the ticketmaster website but it keeps asking for this verified by visa bullshit, I use my card all the time and I've never seen this. I've tried calling the customer service number on the card, no answer, I've tried calling my bank, no answer, this ticketless online only thing is bullshit.

Just follow the instructions when it pops up, right before you have to pay right?
I had to do it as late as earlier today when purchasing Met tix

I should grab a copy of this album, a few people have given it the thumbs up now Oh man it was amazing, one of the best gigs I've been to. If you're in any way a fan of Doom/Sludge/Stoner etc you should check them out, the last album is essential. Mike Scheidt is also one of the most diverse vocalists I've heard in metal, he can do growls, operatic wails and everything inbetween.

Kent soon though eh ;) Dare I ask? How was Robert's voice? Oh, nice! Yeah, I was gonna send you a PM about that actually. : ) Will do soon. I think the show was really good but the setlist was unfortunately a bit of a letdown compared to what they've been playing recently. This was my third Cure show, and at the two I've seen before this one they opened with Open (pun intended/pun not intended) but I've been hoping for Plainsong each time...they didn't play Open last night, but not Plainsong either...they opened with Shake dog shake (for the first time on the tour though I think). Also they didn't play (the song) Disintegration which I think they've played at both of my earlier shows, so that was a shame. Best song of the night was Pictures of you...one of the best songs ever written so it's hard to fail on that one. ; D Robert's voice...was great! He's one of few singers who I think has been able to sing/sound more or less the same throughout his whole career and yesterday was no exception.

Got no gigs until Sabbath in Feb, so I'm considering the following shows:
Oct 28 - Exodus/Obituary (Manchester) Oct 31 - Amon Amarth/Testament/Grand Magus (Manchester) Nov 12 - Delain/Evergrey/Kobra and the Lotus (Manchester) Nov 18 - Lordi (Liverpool) Jan 13 - Poets of the Fall (Manchester) Feb 03 - Epica/Powerwolf (London)
Rotting Christ and Inquisition are doing a show in Manc too but work commitments make that unlikely.

There's still a chance you might get to hear it though since they've rehearsed it and played it like maybe 5 times during 2016 so far.
