Just got back from a Gomez show. Well just 2 of them plus their now regular support Buddy. The 3 of them made an album so bought that and then grabbed their sigs and a few blurry pics. Awesome night. My daughter was across the road watching Rex Orange County and Grent Perez....saw her on the drive home, everybody so happy tonight haha.

I want to see Maiden but it's not easy to get good tickets (i.e. near the front).

Just about to leave for Paul McCartney. Kept trying to buy tix to this soldout show and had success 7pm last night. Amazingly, got 2 seats side by side, just about to pick up my daughter. !

Yeah so it was pretty great We had an awesome night. Was so disappointing to miss out on tix and then such a high to score 2 at the last moment, and seats were central, close to soundboard so sounded great. We had seen him in 2017 but this was something else, indoors and small compared to the big stadium deal. Some of same stories were told and of course he has a tonne of songs that he has to play but didnt matter at all, we stood up and sang all night. Live and let die was a highlight, and Jet really kicked. We both love 1985 a lot and loved he kept that in the set. Watching him sing with John was a goosebump moment. I knew he was doing this (theyve synced up footage from Get Back movie so its like a duet, playing Ive got a Feeling) but didnt expect the impact it had. Helter Skelter was part of the encore. He has a great band, Loved watching the drummer all night. 10/10, wish I could do it again

So I'm going to see Baroness next week, and have been trying really hard to find something, anything, I might enjoy from the opening band, but I can't.
Vile Creature is the band, and I don't know, they sound like one of the worst things I have ever heard, and I enjoy some pretty awful music.
It sounds like some meth-head lady falling down the subway station stairs while trying to bite guys dicks off all as the batteries in your Walkman are slowly dying.
Guess I'll be at the bar numbing the pain during their set.
😂😂😂 👇

Tickets for Alestorm went on sale today for the March show here. I grabbed 2! I'm so happy 😊 Alestorm are like one of my favorite bands the past 7-8 years. The funny thing is that the last time I saw Alestorm was at Heavy Montreal 2017(?) And Baroness were on the stage right before them. Now, once again, I'm seeing Baroness (Monday) and then I'll be seeing Alestorm in March. Strange how things work out like that.

The Baroness show on Monday was fantastic. There was something wrong with the Singer's in ear monitor the first couple of song, but it sounded fine to everyone else. The opening act was switched out for a different band because of a family tragedy that happened or something. This new opening band , The Spotlights ( ? ) were pretty amazing themselves. Very doomy with super fat bass that shook your balls nicely.
The venue is a place I've walked by a million times but never stepped inside. It was a very small club. They had a balcony, but didn't open it up so that the floor level could fill up. There was maybe 300 people there, I could be wrong, but I can't be that off. If I wanted to walk right up to the stage, I could have easily with out having to push or fight my way there. That was the strangest part, it was like I was watching some local random band on open Mic night. Very intimate. I saw Baroness last and only time at a big festival with 20,000 in the crowd, so I guess my perception of their fan base was a bit off lol,
All in all it was a great show and I had a fun time drinking with my buddy. I could step out for a smoke any time I wanted to and the drinks were not too pricey.
I really need to go out more often 😭
The person filming this was probably back up against the merch booth and bar where I was hanging to give you an idea of the size. The rows of people in the audience was about all there was with a bit more hanging off to the sides.

Just found out that the Alestorm show here has sold out 😱 I'm so glad I decided to jump the gun and grab 2 tickets the minute they went on sale. Kind of bummed though because I wanted to grab 2 extra for some friends. Oh well, now the hard part of deciding who I take...

Bunch of others too. Will probably have some good moments. I didnt mind The Romantics. The Safety Dance song is hilarious. Used to work with a guy that would play it regularly....the little weird dude in the video always freaked me out, he doesnt look very safe to me

Woohoo! After some hiccups trying to get in the lobby que, I scored tickets for the wife, my kids, and I for the Osheaga day #2 festival here this summer. Headliner is Green Day with Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, The Linda Linda's and a whole bunch of shity hipster DJs and other weird acts that fall under the "I don't give a shit" category. Cost me an arm and a leg, $500, for 3 tickets in GA. My youngest is still young enough to get in free but I had to pay for the older one who will be 12 this summer.
We haven't had our Heavy Montreal or the Punk festival here since before the pandemic, so I've been dying for that festival experience. This will do.
My oldest is really into Green Day these days so he's gonna flip when I tell him tonight.

Saw QOTSA the other week. Still on a high from it. They always put on a great show. Really liking the latest album...new songs fit in well with orher choices, excellent setlist.
The other night we saw a show called Lady sings the Blues. Close up, intimate set with songs from Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, etc. She was very impressive

Something happened lately here in İstanbul. Somehow tickets to metal shows got sold out inlike 5 -10 mins People are sure that some people behind the curtains favor from the black market sales. And we attract many people from the neighbouring countries.
But this is really sad. This was never the case with metal gigs before.
Megadeth got sold out in like 4 minutes. Scorpions got sold out for two nights. Judas Priest got sold out like in half an hour. Opeth is another one.
Anyway my concert target is Corey Taylor and Bruce Dickinson this summer. But I really wanna see Priest as well. And perhaps Sodom in Autumun.

That's been happening alot here. Unless you're in the lobby as soon as tickets go on sale, forget it. 5 minutes later anything remotely close to decent seats are up for resale at 300% markup or worse. I paid $40 each for my ALESTORM tickets for next week and I wanted an extra ticket for a friend... They're now going for $350 each now. I could leave the wife at home that night and make $300🤔

Given there is no Berlin dates this Rammstein tour (sad times, love Berlin) I was looking at Gelsenkirchen but fuck that as hotels are extortionate! Then looked at Frankfurt but...not the best tickets left. Sooo, I shall keep an eye on any fan sale tickets and hope for Frankfurt. Sold my tickets to Athens gig as the flights were a shocking price 😑
I still have Dublin and perhaps some tickets for Ostend might appear.

I had a blast at the "Totally Tubular Festival" last night. Men Without Hats stole the show, they were so freaking on point and put on such a great show. Amazing stuff, wish I was right up front though, the energy there was insane.
I had amazing seats right near the stage, won them a few months back on the radio. The crowd was funny, mostly old boomers all looking like they just came to a family BBQ. This old lady next to me was dancing her pacemaker heart out. It was awesome. I got really pissed and had such a silly time with my wife.
The Thomson Twins (only one guy) had his band backing him up but it was kind of creepy because they were 3 VERY young blond chicks and I'm 99% sure they were just all miming to a backing track with him just singing.
Next week it's Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and a bunch of techno rave music at the Osheaga festival here. That will be a completely different vibe.
But damn, Men Without Hats, if you ever have a chance to catch them at a festival or something you must.
