Today Guns n Roses and the weather is fucking hot. I saw them in February last year. my brother bought the tickets, $250 each. the seats were a fair way from the stage I'm not a Guns 'n Roses fan, the concert was good but I can't say it was worth $250 for what we got.

I got fanzone tickets for 99 euros. I got pretty close to the stage so it was totally worth it. Show was great maybe a bit too long. Slash really was MVP because he didn't rest once and was always soloing his ass off.

I've decided that before I die, I must attend at least two of the following three: HeavyMTL, Hellfest and Wacken. They always seem to be in-fucking-credible.

So, it was a few days ago now, but man, Maiden were phenomenal, they seem to get better everytime I catch em, sound was brilliant, stageshow was something else too. How Bruce and the boys are so energetic is absolutely bewildering, fantastic show, 10/10.
Really cool to hear songs that are rarely played live, too.

So, that was awesome. Here's some notes from the Iommi event. . He hopes to release an album or collaboration at some point, an instrumental album or with other artists, he says people have reaching out to him to do something. He's talked with Brian May about doing something, but it's just talks. . The song N.I.B is actually named after Bill Ward, that's his nickname. . They lit Bill on fire, numerous times. (Gotta a good laugh outta the crowd ) .They covered Bill in gold paint from head to toe once ... Basically, he was was the Newsted of the band, with taking all the shit, someone has to, Iommi said, and when they weren't, Bill would say, are you guys alright? . Curator mentioned that Lars Ulrich said if there wasn't Black Sabbath, he would still be delivering papers, Iommi replied with, if he wasn't doing music, he would be delivering papers . He mentioned his work with the cancer ward in Birmingham, quite touching, also said, he talked to an elderly lady and asked how she was doing, she said ok, and then asked, who are you? (cue laughter from the crowd, was quite funny) . Also was quite pissed at Eddie Van Halen for playing Into The Void with too much technical stuff, for when Van Halen covered Into The Void back in the day. .Keeps in touch with Bill quite a lot, which is good to hear. A fantastic evening all round, Tony's a very down to earth, well spoken, funny guy, came off very well. Just a sheer pleasure to hear this man talk, and tell Sabbath stories. Would highly recommend going along, if he does one of these things in your neck of the woods.

Should have asked Iommi how losing part of his finger in that metal factory accident affected his ABILITY TO JERK OFF!

So, that was awesome. Here's some notes from the Iommi event. Cheers for the writeup mate, as I said, I would love this opportunity to hear Tony talk like this. Probably know most of the stories but who cares, Tony's talking. Glad that he addressed his cancer - did he comment on his current health / how did he look? I'm happy to hear he and Bill still catch up after the way things panned out for the final tours.

Saw Courtney Barnett again the other night. Bigger venue and lots more people attending this time around and she put on great show. Soft and moody to belting out 2 minute thrashers. I've noticed she has a little bit of Nirvana/Kurt/Courtney Love in her songs (she is a lefty too). Opening act was decent. I saw their name and was just about to head off to the pub for a few beers before the main act but took a look inside when I heard them start up. Naming your rock band The East Brunswick All Girls Choir is not a good way to bring in new crowds

No worries! He was great, funny, articulate and overall came off as very down to earth. He didn't go into too much detail, but he said he's feeling good, looked healthy too. Yeah, don't know if Bill talks to Ozzy as much, but he talks to Geezer and Tony often, which made me happy.

Nah, I don't recall that one. (another good song though)
Crowd was pumped, Adelaide loves Courtney. You can tell because the lesbians and hipster girls yell out I love you Courtney! between songs She really is great, some simple melodies and songs with a quirky lyric and way of putting it together. I've been a fan for a while and think its great she is growing the fanbase. Extra cool highlight was when show was over, lights come on and as everyone is filing out they played RESPECT on the PA and everyone came back in to dance and sing. Was cool moment and happy to see lots of young people getting involved in that.

Lesbians and hipsters... Just as I suspected. That's a lot of beards and pit hair on both ends.

I saw QOTSA last weekend. Great show, awesome lighting. Opened with Someones at the Wolf which I thought was an unusual choice but man, the concert has put me back on a Queens binge and I've been rediscovering some gems off 1 or 2 albums I never gave a lot of time to.

Encore was short. They came back out and got stuck into Song for the Deaf and halfway through Josh launched into the drumkit, destroying it and kicking the bass drum across the stage. I looked at the mess and thought nobody's resetting that up, time to go.
Was a classic Kurt Cobain style drumkit jump, top effort haha

Going to go see Clutch after work Friday. Hope the opener I've never heard of is decent because Sevendust kind of sucks and they're the main support act.
But Clutch will be good, I don't doubt it. Hoping they throw in some off the wall shit like The Dragonfly or something off of Slow Hole to China, but I know they'll probably play half of their new album which I'm also cool with.
