Acoustic guitar parts? Maybe a surprise instrument? High pitched vocals? Gang vocals? Piano solo? Female guest singer? Pop-up cd artwork?
Thinking outside the box?

Ive been about the forums for fucking years. I haven't contributed to these new boards in fuck knows how long. Ive typed at least 5 different paragraphs tonight to try and convey my feelings and hopes. I cant get it out. All I can say is this, I've pushed any hopes of the new album out a long, long time go. Ive made out I didn't care for a long time. I will admit to you all tonight , I'm excited, and I'm ready.

I predict that the intro will be 5 bass tracks layered, think Battery intro meets My Friend of Misery intro, and then a rising, insane, super fast riff will complement it with some harmonies. Then boom! Drums kick in with a sick half time feel with dubble bass for the first verse. Doom meets thrash.

Death Magnetic with shorter songs (5-6 mins with a couple of longer ones) and a Down/CoC vibe. Ronnie Rising-like production. No instrumentals. 10 songs. Then either an EP comes out a couple years later with the rest of the songs from the recording sessions OR they are added as a special edition bonus for the album.

I thought they did it in the studio.
Whichever - if the album sounded that good - bingo.

I bet it will sound a bit worse than Ronnie Rising. Similar sounding instrumentally, but more compressed and produced to meet album standards. I'm predicting 11 songs, with Lords of Summer on the final track list. Mainly because they continued to willingly play that throughout 2015. I bet they'll at least have it as a bonus track.

June 26 2016
I'm willing to bet that Lords Of Summer won't be on there. And they only played it live for so long as it was the most recent new thing they had.

I'd like to see a final recording of Lords of Summer, but after waiting so long for an album I hope it doesn't take a song slot.

Yes. I'd be into hearing a proper studio recording of it which is album release worthy...but *not* on an album.
Make it an iTunes exclusive or something.

If by that you mean I'm a crack shot across five targets, then yes I am. Ask five female members of your family. Doesn't matter which five, any will do.
Also, you love it when I exert some authority. Makes you all giggly. You know it's true.

Less riffage that goes nowhere e.g. the last 2 minutes of The Day That Never Comes. Less compression, more reverb. Less obvious nods to past songs like One (TDTNC) or Blackened (That Was Just Your Life).
That's my pronostic for the album, but what I truly wish for is Kirk sticking to solos and letting James do what he does best, multitracking riffs with his pre-Load guitar tone (most likely never ever going to happen).
