I'm happy France won purely for the fact they were my (safe) pre tournament prediction and it'd be nice to get that right. Hopefully they smash Portugal on Sunday. I feel a Portuguese win strengthens Ronaldo's chances of another Ballon d'Or and I think Suarez has a realistic chance of winning that.

i'm scottish so you get used to making safe assumptions and then let down.
took me eight years to finally get it right with germany, i'm happy for my same predicition of france (or germany, whomever) winning to be proven wrong so that a real heel team can win this thing.

As a French national, I'm obviously chuffed for tonight's win. My other half is English and we'll be in Nice for the final on Sunday - since she wasn't born the last time England won something, it'd be nice for her to experience a crazy mega crowd street party in case of victory (1998 world cup win remains a sweet memory).

Taken out by a moth. That's no way to go. At least now I can rest easy knowing a Portuguese victory can't be credited to Ronaldo.

BBC totally left out the actual "goal of the tournament" in their "goal of the tournament" rundown and that being basti schweinsteiger's goal which broke the sound barrier, melted through the stadium and left a crater somewhere in new mexico. ffs.

100% love for a team almost eliminated by hungary in the first round and for only winning one match in under 90 minutes during the whole tournament. my thoughts on this team have been radicalised and flipped a good 100 degrees since this tournament. maybe portugal will be my post #brexit EU asylum of choice now. (but in all srs, congrats forgotten in space. all the "almosts" and falling at the semi-finals, y'all deserved some gold eventually <3)

Worst EM ever, horrible in every possible way. How the hell can you win the titel with only one won match, it's ridiculous.
