Reload sounds worse than Death Magnetic. Oh man that is hilarious. Yep, as messy as it is, you can actually make out the guitar riffs on Death Magnetic. I dont understand this at all. You hate Reload but love Crack The Skye, and that one is equally "messy" with layers and not too guitaroriented

The problem with Reload is that half the songs are crap, the production is ok.

Yep, as messy as it is, you can actually make out the guitar riffs on Death Magnetic. I dont understand this at all. You hate Reload but love Crack The Skye, and that one is equally "messy" with layers and not too guitar oriented The reason I dislike Reload's sound (for the 50th fucking time) more than that of Death Magnetic and St. Anger is simple - it's the only album in their catalogue that doesn't sound like a band playing their songs. It sounds like 15 people in the studio experimenting. Different sounds work for different bands. Tons of layered guitars and vocals suit the songs on Crack The Skye - that style suits a band like Mastodon who get pretty wacky with the songs and sounds. Songs like Carpe Diem Baby don't need 12 guitars playing at once with 8 vocal tracks over the top. They tried something different and it failed got mixed results. They wanted St. Anger to sound the way it did as a direct result of Reload's sound/production. They wanted to sound like a band again. Just 4 guys playing their songs in a garage. The did this because they went in the extreme opposite direction on Reload. The only thing I don't understand about Reload is why people get so invested in my opinion on the album. I don't like the overall sound/mix and I don't like about half the songs. Why is this such a big deal? People complain when I go on about it all the time - but the same people constantly try to convince me my opinion is wrong or to explain the reasons for my opinions over and over again. I don't get it.

I think we can place a moratorium on drawing attention to yepper's feelings towards Reload now. YEs, you might disagree but it IS getting tedious seeing it brought up all the live long day.
Agree to disagree and leave it there folks. Or I'll get the big delete eraser out.

I don't think I'll ever find someone who hates Reload more than yepsure There are plenty of people that dislike Reload as much and more than I do (well on the old forums there were at least). You guys just focus on me not liking it for some reason - probably because it's fun for you to troll me and get me to explain myself time and time again, which has resulted in it becoming a much bigger deal that it needs to be. I don't even hate the album that much, there are just parts of it that annoy me.

I feel like mastodude has to be demoded, at the very least. If not permanently banned.

Yes but it's the exact same things being said every time, you can just feel yepsure getting kinda frustrated that he have to explain himself over and over again. I bet it's quite expensive too

Garage Inc. > the Loads > KEA > everything else.
I can't elaborate much more right now, 'cause I haven't listened to a full Metallica album since DM came out.
