Ghosts don't exist and Jesus was a charlatan. I thought the same.....until I lived in a haunted house. I'll tell you this, if you ever hear doorbells ringing in the wee hours of the morning right before you wake up or have unexplained scratches on your back and neck that you couldn't possibly have made yourself, gtfo of where ever you're at and don't look back!

My friends and I went to every "haunted" place we could read about and visit in Kentucky. Cemeteries, old theatres, abandoned hospitals, abandoned homes, shady old schools in the middle of nowhere.
Never saw anything.
Because there isn't anything.

If someone could tell me how to transcribe old VHS to something modern I'd show you...

There's a video of a Chirstmas get together we threw at our house. About 5 or 6 people were there. Anyway, somebody started filming us and when I went back later to look at it, there were orbs...over no one but me. It looked like I was in a snow storm, like a snow cloud was directly over my head, and the orbs had purposeful movement and followed me as I moved about the room. In another video, there appeared to be dragonflies swarming around the house but no one was reacting to them and there definitely weren't swarms of dragonflies in our house that went unnoticed ever! In yet another video, I was filming myself dancing and when I went to look at the video, you can see this blue ghostly hand of a man as clear as day. The crazy thing about that is as soon as I realized what I was seeing, the phone rang. I go to answer, say "Hello" and what replied sounded like a recording of my voice, only sped up and lowered to sound positively demonic! Some scary shit......

Paranormal stuff... if it happens to you.. is very real. You try to explain to anyone else, and they call bs. Is a tough one. I have seen/heard stuff but put my 'Scully' head on and try to find the most plausible and logical reason.
Not saying, there always is one ;)
One thing i do believe.. we as humans, may have discovered a lot but I reckon we have so much more to discover and learn. That excites me.

Phantom DNA/DNA phantoms has pretty much negated the existence of ghosts and/or any other forms of paranormal entities.

I know my dad had a pretty insane experience once but that sounded off the rails too. I've had a few... Minor things:
In short: The first time I was at my ex's house I went upstairs to the bathroom, when I was done and about to exit the room I looked straight into the room right at the end of the corridor. I got a really strange feeling, it was in total black and something just seemed wrong. Can't really explain it. I went past it and headed down the stairs and I remember this very clearly, I was feeling something was about to push me down the stairs. I went down and was almost expecting it... Of course nothing happened. I got down in the living room feeling rather, dizzy, I sat down in the couch and she asked if there was something wrong. I said no, but in my mind I was telling, whatever I felt, to show it self someway or another and BAM the tv went on... I know this happens quite often with certain tv's, but the timing couldn't have been any better.
We went on and some months later we were a couple. That particular room was her 4 year old kid's bedroom and I shit you not, ever since I have checked up on him while he was sleeping. Just because of that weird feeling that first night I was in the house. I never really felt comfortable being alone that place and funnily enough, 4 years after I told her the story. She wasn't surprised the slightest because she had experienced all kinds of weird shit throughout the years but she never told because she feared my reaction.

If I were a ghost with the ability to do whatever the fuck I wanted, I wouldn't just haunt one spot. Why would a ghost stay in one particular house? I would be cruising all over the fuckin world doing whatever and fucking with all kinds of different people. I think the explanation for "haunted houses" is that certain houses have certain characteristics (noisy pipes, sections that are colder than other sections etc) that combined with an over-active imagination make people think there's a ghost in the house with them.

I think ghosts are just sounds you can't hear. Take me for instance The sound of a UK police car whizzing by with its sirens on. The volume and pitch of those sirens puts the willies up me, proper shit myself response to hearing that sound. Not because I associate it with anything bad, or I'm scared of loud noises, just that specific sound and pitch turns me from normal to catatonic despair at the flick of a switch. Now say you are in a room with an ultra high/low frequency sound, that you cannot hear, but your brain can, and that initiates the same response. Only this time you don't know why you feel the dread, cause you cant hear it... Food for thought...

If they go outside a certain range, they'll fade away for ever because there's not enough energy. And Alan, your sound theory would make sense to me if not for the many physical manifestations of the haunting. This wasn't just a feeling, I've seen, felt and heard tons of shit....some of which I got on camera.

In what way is that remotely probable? You're just making things up to explain relatively mundane mysteries. You could have said they're probably invisible aliens, or energy shadows of people from a neighboring dimension and it would make just as much sense. You're just projecting your own biases onto the events to try to make sense of them.

The more chaos and confusion they can cause, the stronger they'll grow. I can't really say why they don't seem to move and instead just stay at one location but if I had to guess, I think the lack of access to energy has something to do with it.

I do believe ghosts are tied to energy, I think they feed off it. The more chaos and confusion they can cause, the stronger they'll grow. Why? Well, in my own personal experience, the weird shit used to intensify whenever I was arguing with my mom or if I was angry about something...or whenever people were over and there was a lot of excitement around. Also, the light bulbs. I would put a new light bulb in and a week later they would die out. These bulbs were supposed to last years and we were lucky to have one last a month. The more paranormal (weird shit) that would happen, the quicker the bulbs would die out...

My 10K hour light bulbs last a couple of months... Eek The bulbs in my bedroom are lucky to last weeks. I just gave up and use lamps. I considered calling an electrician, but these days it's easier to just invent your own rules and mythology about the afterlife to explain it and move on. Unless you know a good electrician who does exorcisms on the side, pm me the deets.

Either your mind is struggling with the stress and perhaps not functioning as it should. Or, the more simple and likely explanation, the moments you're arguing are much more memorable experiences, so your brain can easily recall them. Same with when people are over and you're doing things, you remember those moments much more vividly. It's easy to recall that a bulb blew or something randomly fell in an intense fight. You probably didn't give a fuck when it happened into the 14th hour of Full House reruns while you were alone. It's the same way every since 2001 you feel like you noticed 9:11 on a clock more often than other times. No, it's just memorable is all.

I could understand if something like that happened once or twice....but it happened ALL THE TIME, even if we weren't fighting, light bulbs just never lasted at that house. Also, sometimes at night, I would be ready to fall asleep and I would hear the faintest, barely perceptible humming coming from the wall. I would touch my feet or some other part of my body to the wall and the humming would cease, which I thought was odd, how could my body have an effect on a noise? Anyway, I would go to sleep only to wake up in the middle of the night to the loudest roar ever! It seriously sounded like a 747 jet or big as generator was on the roof of the house and I would be frozen with fear. I truly believed it was aliens but after a few months of this, I finally got up the courage and went outside to look at the roof. There was nothing there and you couldn't hear the noise outside, the minute I stepped back through the door though, 747 all over again. I haven't had any paranormal experiences at all since I moved out of that house over a decade ago but recently, I was at my mom's house for Christmas and the weird shit started right back up again. I was sitting there talking with my Aunt when the loudest BOOM you ever want to hear rattled the front door. It honestly sounded like someone had taken a running start and kicked it. All the windows were open, we could easily see outside....nobody there, no a breeze to be felt...just weird, ghostly shit starting up again..

There's so much more to it than that. I could understand if something like that happened once or twice....but it happened ALL THE TIME, even if we weren't fighting, light bulbs just never lasted at that house. Faulty electronics aren't going to fix themselves. I wasn't joking when I said the bulbs in my bedroom last for weeks. An unstable connection will significantly decrease their lifespan. Elsewhere in the house my shower used to turn itself off when I got in, so we got a new shower and it did the same thing. You could easily attribute that to spooky goings on, but in reality it was again just faulty electronics delivering too much power to the bathroom and cutting off for safety. Also, sometimes at night, I would be ready to fall asleep and I would hear the faintest, barely perceptible humming coming from the wall. I would touch my feet or some other part of my body to the wall and the humming would cease, which I thought was odd, how could my body have an effect on a noise? The human body effects all sorts of signals. Have you never walked past a radio aerial and had it react? Or touched a speaker jack and heard it buzz? Anyway, I would go to sleep only to wake up in the middle of the night to the loudest roar ever! It seriously sounded like a 747 jet or big as generator was on the roof of the house and I would be frozen with fear. I truly believed it was aliens but after a few months of this, I finally got up the courage and went outside to look at the roof. All the windows were open, we could easily see outside....nobody there, no a breeze to be felt...just weird, ghostly shit starting up again.. A loud noise isn't ghostly shit it's... a loud noise. You could make up a million random fictional stories that would explain it but nowadays we're often biased to jump to ghosts because we've grown up with ghost stories and horror movies and things that spark the imagination. The brain just likes to make sense of stuff and is easily deceived. It's the same logic as ancient cultures attributing lightning and earthquakes to Gods; they had no better explanation or knowledge at the time so they made up a story.

I'm not the overly gullible, superstitious, easily deceived type. Like you, I would have scoffed at anyone who said what I'm saying had it not happened to me. You have a point about the light bulbs but what makes a noise like a 747 that can only be heard from inside the house? Why makes phantom dragonflies appear and ghostly blue hands appear? What causes scratches down your back so deep they start to bleed? I'm telling you, something was going on in that house and it's not my imagination....
