Is anyone watching this fight? I did. Lasted longer than I thought it would, but typical Mayweather fight. Mad respect for Conor though.

Watched it in da cinema. Wanted Conor to win so everyone would roar and go crazy. Every time Conor landed even a little tap the crowd would oooh and aahh. = (

Conor did far better than anybody expected. Of course Floyd was always going to be the massive favorite, and a Conor victory would've been the biggest upset of all time, but still, he went 10 rounds with the GOAT and even won a few rounds. In the end, Floyd showed why he's the best, and that you can't beat 21 years of pro experience just like that.
Anyway, great match, great stuff from McGregor, and one of the better Mayweather matches I've seen.

Yeah, agree with everyone here. After the forth round you just knew how it would end. Conor was amazing in the first two rounds, I wanted him so bad to land that perfect left hook and drop Mayweather. Oh well, he did much better than anyone would have thought.

Not to mention he came out 100 million dollars richer. I'd say he had a good night all things considered.

I watched it and enjoyed it. It was a great atmosphere at the pub I watched it at, was packed to the rafters.
Not sure why everyone loves Conor and wanted him to win. Would have loved to see a Mayweather knock the ego out of him, but I'll take the TKO.
Glad the reality TV style spectacle and all the fake drama is over now.

Lol Floyd's ego is like 10 times as big as Conors + he's a first class douche

They're both egotistical douchebags. But only one is a champion of 50-0.
I normally love a good underdog story, where he/she/the team defeats the champion(s) despite all odds. But ithe underdog in this case acted like he was king shit, like he was the champion of the world in everything imaginable, and he got put in his fucking place with little effort. That was more entertaining to me than the upset of Conor winning would have been.
EDIT: of course this is all assuming that the outcome wasn't all worked out in board room 9 months ago when this $300m deal was being put together. They both played their parts well.

Conor acts like that because it's part of how he's so successful. In his mind he has already won all his fights before they have even begun. It's all about the power of visualization / positive thinking or whatever you want to call it. Most professionals in all types of sports are arrogant, it doesn't bother me at all that he acts the way he does.

To me, the biggest surprise in the match was that Conor managed to keep the match somewhat competitive for quite a few rounds, and was actually able to hit Floyd as many times as he did. I think he landed 100 strikes to Floyd, which is actually more than Pacquiao did!
It was a much closer fight than it had any right to be, and that's a compliment to Conor, not a slight to Floyd. It was very clear that in a boxing ring, Floyd is miles ahead of Conor... But not quite as many miles as many thought!
And to be fair, for 100 million, I'd fight fucking Anthony Joshua every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Floyd was more aggressive and less defensive than he was in the Pacman fight which is probably why Conor landed more blows.

Stellar stuff, very entertaining! that Joanna chick is so disrespectful, just leaves the ring. what a bitch! I was really happy for Rose, she shut the "boogie woman" up. GSP was amazing. I thought he was tiring out, Bisping was just starting to get going. Georges was bleeding, having to wipe it out of his eyes. what he did to Bisping was just phenomenal, great fight. Bisping is a very good sport. that Joanna could learn something from him.

I served GSP ice cream a few summers back. He was a nice guy, glad to see my local thug succeed again.

UFC 217 is my most enjoyable event. Crazy how 3 champions lost their titles by not protecting their jaw in stand-up striking. Bisping and Cody made fairly basic mistakes, I think Joanna expected a jab so tried to parry and then got caught.
Admire Bisping refusing to tap, that's some Steve Austin 1997 shit

Am I the only one that thinks tapping out to strikes is a smart thing to do? Why take more damage to the head when you don’t have to ?

Am I the only one that thinks tapping out to strikes is a smart thing to do? Why take more damage to the head when you don’t have to ? If you have the presence of mind to tap then the strikes haven't really rocked you, you're just choosing to give up without trying to defend

I am going to have to disagree. I have had someone have my back and pound me with punches, your ears ring, your vision starts to get foggy and then you start questioning what’s going on. Sometimes I think it would be better to tap if you can definitely know for sure that you are not escaping this situation, like David Branch did when tapping to Luke Rockhold
