According to the official Megadeth Facebook page, Dave Mustaine has been diagnosed with throat cancer.  Although he says that the treatment plan has a 90% success rate, it's still goddamn horrible. Megadeth is cancelling most of their gigs for the rest of the year, obviously, but are still working on their next album.

That would be nutty if that is the reason for his horrendous vocals and when he comes out the other end it'll sound magically better. One could wish, but probably not. Best of luck to a speedy recovery.

My grandpa died of throat cancer about 17 years ago.
It was brutal, with his entire voice box having to be removed and having to eat all his meals through a tube. Ultimately it still spread and got him a year or two later.
Best wishes go out to Dave and his family. It seems like they caught it early so hopefully they can stay ahead of it and he makes a full cancer free recovery.

Hey guys.
So sad to hear about this. I mean, it feels so close to me. It's not like a story I read on the news.
Thankfully, my dad beat lymphoma, and beat liver lessions twice but has been struggling with side effects of chemotherapy for the last few years. And everything has been different for him, and for my relationship with my dad.
I'm telling you...those who has experienced this will understand what I mean. It's very hard.
Like everyone else said, Mustaine himself has been a very tough personality. I have high hopes for him kicking its ass.
Best of luck to Mustaine's and the extended Megadeth family.

I hope he pulls through. If anything, I'm sure he is surrounded by the best medical professionals and services available.
Although, a new\fairwell megadeth album with a guest vocalist on each track could turn into something quite awesome.

Glad to hear that Mustaine is doing good with his cancer battle. Excited to listen to the new album - I think that the only truly BAD album they've done is Super Collider. Not all of the others have been great, but at least all of them have some kickass songs.

Gee it’s been quiet on the Megadeth front. I wonder what Ellefson has been up to these days? Based on the information currently available, nothing illegal at least. Embarrassing for sure, I doubt he can live that stuff down any time soon. Hopefully this won't affect his membership in Megadeth, but let's be real - Mustaine has kicked members out for lesser things. |

That's not the only thing that leaked....... Apparently the woman recorded it without Ellefson knowing and shared it with friends. Why she shared it has not been established. |
