North American dates just announced. 250$ for two tickets to see Megadeth and the Scorpions... Yeah, I don't think so. I've always wanted to see them live, but no way at that price. Oh boy. How well are they selling? |

The Megadeth site, and the site it redirected me to for tickets was pretty shotty and slow. The tickets for $125 each where the only option it was giving me. I'll recheck. I logged in like a minute after I got the notification on the new dates so I doubt all the cheap seats where gone.
The choice in venue here is really bazaar as well. Its this tiny Hockey rink out side of Montreal in the neighbouring city of Laval which is jam packed full of Greek clubber types and Italian mafiosi. Never heard of a show being put on there and it's like an hour away. There are plenty of smaller venues in Montreal that put on shows of this scale. Maybe the cost was dirt cheap so they went with the one in Laval to max profit.
That neighborhood is totally run and controlled by the mafia so who knows, maybe that's why they made only the expensive tickets available first. Whole city is constantly under investigation for fraud for this or that.

Man, MegaDeth sound like fucking shit live these days. The downtuning sounds awful. Dave sounds awful. At best they're boring. At worst they're awful. The solo in the above video was pretty cool though.
No idea why people pay money to see this...or how they're even still around.

How the FUCK does Dave think this shit is a good idea. The 2004 re-records on RIP were passable enough because his voice still sounded good, but did he really think it was okay to re-release KIMB with a detuned, vocally re-recorded These Boots? This sounds HORRIBLE. Not to mention you can hear the artifacts in the guitars at points from being processed so much.
