If by "quality" you mean lukewarm, tame and neutered dad-rock, then I guess so. Dad rock? How is the music on SA and especially BTW dad rock? If anything, RHCP went so far away from the sound that made then famous and towards a modern poppy, artsy sound on BTW that it brought about a bit of a divisive reaction to the album. I'd say SA was a mixture of all the stuff they've written over the years. We can argue forever on the two albums quality, but they most certainly aren't dad rock. If you want dad rock look at the Foo Fighters. They are the epitome of bland, corporate, soulless dad rock. |

Not sure what's considered dad rock but if you want safe, bland, dad friendly rock its Foo Fighters more than it is RHCP.

Foo Fighters sounds far more dangerous and "rock" to me these days than RHCP. Modern RHCP is blandness incarnate.

I saw a Rig Rundown with Klinghoffer and he had like THREE pedalboards absolutely rammed with pedals and some on the floor too.
His tech said he doesn't always use every pedal and sometimes just clicks something on he doesn't even know what it is and sees what happens.
... i call that overcompensating.

Actually I changed my mind - Stadium Arcadium is a good album with lots of filler. By The Way and IWY are their worst efforts. Specifically, By The Way.
