December 2015 - The Force Awakens
December 2016 - Rogue One
2017 - Episode 8
2018 - A Han Solo Story
2019 - Episode 9
2020 - Untitled Anthology Movie.
Then they'll probably just keep making Anthology movies after that like the MCU

Looks great.
Not really sold on the main girl, I felt the same about the main cast of The Force Awakens too, the actors playing Rey, Finn and Kylo (when his mask was off at least), they weren't bad but I wasn't blown away from them.
It just seems weird to me that it seems in films like these, big franchises, for some reason the supporting actors are always so much better than the main cast.

That guy in white on the Death Star or Star Destroyer looked like Moff Tarkin.

When is the next movie due btw ? Is it one a year or ? Rogue One is coming Christmas 2016, Episode VIII is coming Christmas 2017. For the foreseeable future, for Star Wars fans every Christmas is like... Christmas.

Watched The Force Awakens again last night. Daisy Ridley just isn't a great actress, she overacts too much. The guy who played Finn was better than I remembered and I just can't take Kylo seriously without the mask.
Still a good film though.

So i watched the Force awakens on Blu Ray
If anyone else has it can you confirm the sound is kind of off? Like when the Storm troopers land on that planet on those drop ships and when the doors open they start firing, on mine the blasters are muted. I seemed to remember you were treated to the famous E-11 pew pew, from when I saw it at the cinema.

Still haven't watched The Force Awakens. You should have in the cinema. It looses so much on the little screen.

My BB-8 got a "Watch With Me" feature added to its app so it reacts to audio cues from the TFA while you're watching it. It's pretty fun. :)

Rogue One looks good but seriously what's with the female lead? More Disney bullshit, this isn't the Hunger Games y'know.

Rogue One looks good but seriously what's with the female lead? More Disney bullshit, this isn't the Hunger Games y'know. Right, now I am not going to pretend that this didn't strike me as odd too. Now whether it's a feminist agenda, over doing the PC thing, SJWs at work or just some nonsensical Disney Princess thing, who knows? But as I said above the importance of the mission would dictate that only the most capable and battle hardened of operatives would take part and a teenage tinker off the streets is not a suitable character to lead this story. That said the main reason this does not quite sit comfortably with me is that we have just been introduced to Rey and we have just started on her journey from rags to momentousness. Giving us another girl off the street character with the same, albeit accelerated, rise from urchin to hero is just tiring and steals the thunder from the Rey story. We do not need another Rey right now, or a Luke for that matter. This should have been a military only action movie. However, all the above be damned what you can say is that maybe a female lead in modern, non "action hero" style, high profile sci fi is just set in stone; Alien series Hunger Games Resident Evil Battlestar Buffy X-Files Gravity Sucker Punch Alien V Predator Divergent Serenity Aoen Flux Terminator Contact And horror too Halloween Scream Night of the Living Dead Dawn of the Dead The Craft Underworld Ginger Snaps Silence of the Lambs Decent True Blood Twilight - HA HA Trick r Treat Jeepers Creepers etc etc... What is the social or maybe even economic reason for this? Discuss...

You could make a list that's just as long, probably longer, of modern fantasy / sci-fi movies with male leads. And besides, having a lot of female leads is a good thing.
I do get the concern about the main character of Rogue One having a similar arc as Rey. This could start getting really unnecessarily repetitive if they're not careful. But having a lot of female leads is not a problem. The original and prequel trilogies both have male leads; it's okay to focus more on women now. Male doesn't have to be, and shouldn't be, the default gender.

Male doesn't have to be, and shouldn't be, the default gender. You could make that list with males, but these are prominent movies where the gender of the character could be interchangeable with a male lead with no adverse implications to the movie plot ( not Sucker Punch). So why are women typically cast in these roles I'm not saying it's a bad thing at all btw, I am just saying this seems to be how it is and am inviting discussion on why this is the trend since.. Alien I guess. And no countering with Batman, superman, mission impossible etc... those are not modern IP

I agree with Alan, I liked Rey very much and having another chick doing the sameish thing as her, in the same universe... Not really. I would have loved a Star Wars action sci fi movie with no prominent leads, just a pure spectacle without trying to play too much on emotions
