I'll be lazy and just use James as the barometer, they are all so close in age it works.
I'm 28, and Metallica were releasing and touring on one of the biggest albums of all time, Metallica.
I work at a desk in a tool room!

I'm guessing that at 22 they were doing Kill 'em All/Ride the Lightning and rn I live with my mother, dropped out of university once, back being utterly obsessed with wrestling and one of the few paid jobs I've had was for watching a football match. Do I have regrets? Maybe just a little.

Its strange, in my head, Black Album James is still older then I am today even though I'm in my mid 30s. I think it will always be like that, even when I'm 60.

I'm 31, and Hetfield was 31 in 1994... They were taking a break from band things after the massive Black Album tour cycle, right? So at my age, Hetfield had basically achieved rock n' roll immortality.

It's pretty weird. I'm 32, Hetfield was walking around with a killer mullet after a 12 year run in Metallica, which saw then release 5 ground breaking albums, achieved underground and mainstream success, and was arguably one of the most famous musicians on the planet at the time. I play Call of Duty a lot and post on forums. |

It's funny. When I was younger and first starting my band Jugular, I matched up what James was doing with what I was doing at our respective ages. Now I'm 27 and obviously I never got to where he did. :(

I am playing in 2 orchestras, don't have a girlfriend, go to the gym 3 times a week and don't have a job (but some kind of school I go to), so...yeah
