Heartbreak Kid. Yes. He's a 50-something Heartbreak Kid.
The first two hours or so of the show were really good. I loved the IC title ladder match, Styles-Jericho was good, League of Nations vs. New Day was fine, Lesnar-Ambrose was okay, the Women's title match was excellent... But the rest of the show a) took faaaaar too long, b) was boring as fuck. Shane-Taker sucked, the Battle Royal was pointless (isn't it usually on the pre-show?), and the main event was HORRIBLE, a fact which wasn't helped at all that the crowd HATES Roman Reigns. Way to drop the ball, WWE. And come the fuck on, five hours of the main show???

Joanie Laurer (Chyna) has passed away.
The writing has been on the wall for a long time, but it's still devastating.

Yeah just read that. Sad news.
Also, fuck Stephanie McMahon for her tweet. The company shunned Chyna and essentially erased her from the "universe". SO save your faux-sympathetic tweets Steph. If you gave that much of a shit about her, you'd have had the company reach out and try and help her.

I haven't watched AJ Styles main event a PPV live in a considerable time (I kept up while he was in Japan but I usually knew the result and if it was exceptional or just great) but holy heck that man is in incredible. His in-ring work and how he brought Roman up to a high level (he looked better than I've seen him anyway), second to none. I knew that it would be won the way it was but that didn't stop me turning into a massive mark every time I thought AJ would do it...
Wee bit disappointed because that match had so many opportunities for storyline development but all in all that was a fuuuuuuun and enjoyable PPV (WE LOVE YOU ENZO AMORE).

WWE is often criticized for being formulaic and predictable, and almost never doing anything surprising. Well, here's a surprise for ya! The match was almost MMA-esque in that it was a "flash KO", which, you know, HAPPENS sometimes. Why couldn't it happen in WWE? Everybody was expecting this to go at least 12-15 minutes, but would that made the match any better? Especially considering that Goldberg reportedly injured his shoulder on RAW, so that probably played into that match going the way it did.

There's surprise and then there's being tossed out of the orbit of suspension of disbelief.
The no-offense bullshit makes it even worse.

I think of it like, the first spear was so surprising that Brock never recovered. And a Goldberg Spear HAS traditionally been sold as an instant finish at any point of the match. Two of those could incapacitate basically anyone, within the pro wrestling narrative.

The only people who shoulda beat brock are nakamura or samoa joe You're on crack. the undertakers streak was in the hands of brock. Why give that to a 50 year old whos not gonna stay in the company for long? Joe or nakamuras credibility woulda went through the roof if they went over brock. But why build new superstars when they can just throw money at semi retired 50 year olds right? YOU my friend, are the one who is on crack!

Sure, use it to put over two guys who are almost in their 40's. That makes even more sense.
Brock was the one to take it. Undertaker wanted him to years earlier. It makes the most sense up until they ruined it 2 days ago. Beating the one who conquered the streak would have put someone over even more than beating the streak itself. Someone new wouldn't have been able to handle it. Instant backlash. They'd have to live up to it right out of the gate. Who else but Brock could pull it off?

Hell, the only other person who could pull it off and it be credible would be Kurt Angle.
It's true, it's true.

Fact: They should have used The Streak to initiate a John Cena heel turn. Cena and Taker go at it. Cena can't put Taker away. Ref takes a nasty bump. Cena gets frustrated, low blows Taker, whacks him in the head with a chair (I know head shots are banned, but fuck it, it's WrestleMania), gives him an AA on the chair, ref comes to and counts to 3. Cena wins as the crowd boos him out of the building. Cena stands in the ring, smiles that shit eating grin of his, and walks away.
Don't even bother debating me on it.

Lesnar took the streak as a Fuck You to the fans for DBry going over. It got no one over, it did nothing but squash Taker and piss off the fans.
Anyone here remember the JustinTV era?

Had nothing to do with Daniel Brian. It got Brock Lesnar legitimately more over than anyone, who then made everyone a shit ton of money. It didn't squash Taker. He's still a top draw. Fans were more sad than pissed. Let's not try and re-write history now.
