The best recent show Iβve attended, new stage setup was a surprise, set was awesome. Playing Bleeding Me on a full on Metal festival takes balls. Sound wasβ¦ EPIC.
This is a perfect example of how important the venue is, 30.000 people, Hetfield had all the Metalheads eating from his palm and the energy was unreal. Fast foreward 12 months to the ultimate snooze fest in the round in Hamburg, 70.000 people and no one felt connected. Maybe 12 peoplein n the round when they could see someone in the band for a min each half hour.
Come to think of it, Copenhell was probably my favourite show since⦠Roskilde 2013. Even better than the Royal Arena shows.

There's that word again... Connection. Jayc spoke of it too.
And so does the band, so why was the gigantic stage and stadium deal given the go ahead ??

If anyone wants a newer "Metallica Monday"... Sometimes i think Metallica need to do something different, maybe release a country album or something, seeing them play the same songs for the 1000th time confirms this.

I'm going back and enjoying some of the 2017 Metallica Monday videos. They felt too new and similar to the LiveMet videos at the time, so I didn't really watch these ones too much when they came out. Now that it's been 7 years I'm appreciating the Hardiwred videos a lot. They played the shit out of that album on that tour.

This is amazing. It almost (almost) felt like hearing the song for the first time.

Both the above videos are why I love the internet. Like what the hell, what a time to experience.

Itβs a shame Just a Bullet Away never got a proper album release and mix. There needs to be some spooky effects and delay in that bridge and it would shineeee

Looks like a design Kirk would have but with less color.

With some tweaking it would easily be my favorite song since... Maybe some stuff on Load. I like it that much. I was so disappointed that it didn't make the album in some superior form.

Saturday was my first guess. I could envision them getting really Metallica-y, with their own heavy cover of Bennie & the Jets, but I'm not sure that's the vibe of the event lol Im Stll Standing would be appropriate So this popped up on YT

I watched my kid play through this yesterday during the live event. It was pretty trippy and well done. A cool mix of the hits plus the game play switched from cars to platform and other styles enough with a huge Ktulu like boss at the end.

Lux Γterna is a good racing song.
Wish there was more of their modern songs in there but of course it's not a surprise there isn't.

Lux Aeterna is the most unique sounding song to their discography they've done since St. Anger. Halo on Fire is close.

I wish the rest of the album was like it. I think the closest we have is Too Far Gone.

It's been one of my favorites from the album from day one, and it's got my favorite as well as the heaviest riff of the album (the first run of the "Batman riff" with the half-time drum part). It sounds more or less like a classic here! Don't know why but it just does. Works great live because the song just flows well, rocks hard and doesn't overstay its welcome. As someone said here recently I hope that this song will be the main one from 72 Seasons that will stay in their setlists after the tour.

I posted that in the tour thread too, and goddamn I'll watch that another 10 times. The debut video and a lot of the 2023 performances of this one were rough, but it's tightened up to become the best sounding live song from the album so far along with Inamorata. I originally thought Too Far Gone was going to be the one to stay in the setlist for awhile, but this has my vote now.

Shadows Follow is really cool live. The part towards the end, where James shouts "I say NO!" and the playing stops for a second... Fan-fuckin-tastic.
