One of my Fav movies of all time is Southland Tales. It is beyond messed up and amazing. If anyone hasn't seen it, you must. Time travel, WW3, ocultish stuff kind of awsome. Do watch it, you will be very pleased that you did.
I've seen The Big Labowski a few times and it was good but never really clicked with me, I feel its one of those movies that are over hyped and loved by many, like Fear and Loathing, don't get me wrong, they're good movies, but they just never felt as awsome to me as they do to other people, don't know why, they just do.

Not really your sense of humour, I guess? I love both those movies.

I actually had to pause and compose myself.
That should be how Oscars are awarded

I've seen TBL once, several years ago. It didn't click with me at the time either. I remember thinking that they chose the wrong main character for that film. I would rather have watched Jesus Quintana's story.

The Martian - 2nd time seeing it, still no idea why it was nominated for an Oscar. I mean it's a decent film and I did enjoy it, but really? I haven't read the book, but I want to.
Bridge of Spies - I really enjoyed this one. I didn't realize it was directed by Spielberg and written by the Coen Brothers either.

Paranormal activity 3 - The first 1,5 hours are boring crap, the last half hour is pretty good.

After, I read the book, which was a bit different, and I liked it a bit more perhaps than the movie. Then I watched the movie again, but I started missing stuff from the book, so I don't think you'll like the movie more after reading the book.

I went to see the legendary "The Room" with an old Metbb friend last night. It was a hell of a lot worse than I expected – but a great night out. - Tommy Wiseau was there to do a Q&A. - They showed I believe an episode of "The Neighbours" as well (which, I learned later on, was supposed to have been a 'sitcom'). - The audience was loud and that made the cinema experience one of a kind: - Every time the young boy Denny entered a scene, the audience went "Hi, Denny!"
- Every time Denny left a scene, the audience went "Bye, Denny!"
- Every time a character wouldn't close the front door, the audience would shout "Shut the fucking door!"
- Every time there was a dolly shot (or whatever) of the Golden Gate Bridge, the audience shouted out what sounded like "Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!" until the shot reached the other end of the bridge.
- Every time the characters were throwing an American football around, the audience would count out loud how many times it was being thrown.
- Every time a photo frame with a picture of a spoon in it entered the shot, the audience would shout "Spoon!" and a shower of plastic spoons was thrown towards the screen. That was a lot of spoons over the course of the film.
Good fun!

I've yet to subject myself to an ironic viewing of "The Room."
It's kind of interesting how someone took such bad film and turned it into a fun, Rocky Horror Picture Show-esque event.
