I think what Danny doesn't realize is that her ancestors didn't win westeros by politely requesting that the rulers submit to them. They didn't form alliances or make pacts. They just showed up to the places they wanted to conquer and said either you submit or we go to war.....and war for the ancient Targaryens' meant fucking shit up with their dragons and burning innocent people alive....something Danny refuses to do. She will never win this war if she doesn't use brute force and she will never gain allies by demanding that king's submit. Jon has zero reason to support her being on the throne and there's no one left in westeros who supports her claim. She needs to figure something out and she needs to figure it out quick or else she will never sit the throne.
Also, whoever is coordinating these war scenes in this show needs to win a fucking award! They're great!!

I think Jon doesn't want to bend the knee because he would have to do what Dany orders, and if she wants to use his men for the war against Cercei, he would be bound by his vow to obey. Also, it may destabilize his authority in the North when it needs to be very strongly united.
Of course there could also be a reason rooted in pride, or in his development since being close to the free folk. Maybe it's like Tormund said, he can never be a kneeler again.

One of the weaker episodes this season...but still pretty good. Also, Gendry's back!

Looks like Dany's fallen hard for a certain someone that Bran will eventually make weird. --My padded room idea for what may transpire over the final 2 episodes (son of a bitch!) this season-- Jon is the only one that doesn't make it back from beyond the wall:
1. Jon elects to stay behind to fight off/lead astray a group of pursuing wights and White Walkers because: a) He's honorable as fuck b) He has Valyrian steel and can kill the White Walkers chasing them
Jon tells the group to use his sacrifice the unite the kingdoms against the Night King.
2. Dany goes north: a) Haven't thought of why she would; maybe there's been no word of the raid so she gets impatient and goes to Eastwatch with her dragons (would be cool if she went to Winterfell and said "Hey" to the Stark sisters, but seems more likely she'd just go straight to Eastwatch) b) Dany gets to Eastwatch and hears from a guilt-ridden Jorah that Jon is honorable as fuck (meanwhile, I expect Tormund to be drunk out of his mind on sour goat's milk for leaving his best friend behind) c) Dany feels the tingles in her heart region and takes her dragons beyond the wall to find Jon
3. Dany finds Jon: a) Jon is surrounded by White Walkers & wights but is holding his own because people talk about him as if he's the best swordsman who ever lived, causing more tingles for Dany b) Dany tells her dragons to take care of business and saves Jon c) Jon finally gets atop Rhaegal and he and Dany fly back to Eastwatch/Winterfell d) The season ends with Jon and Dany finally having weird blood relative sex on a boat going south instead of north to slap some sense into Cersei so they can all band together in season 8 before the Night King pimp walks his way across Westeros
Now I assume the Cersei would try to use this to her advantage somehow to keep the throne, which she would of course fuck up and cause her own death.
This also seems to throw out the plot of bringing a dead man south as proof.
And typing this all out just now does make it seem really far-fetched. But I found it cool like 10 minutes ago.

I think she's gonna fly up there too but instead of her rescuing Jon and them flying back to Dragonstone to live happily ever after, I think things won't go as planned and the Night King will have a new Ice Dragon at his command. Think about it, all these books have been leading up to that wall coming down. There have been prophecies of an ice dragon from the beginning. I think these tow things will converge once Danny makes her way Northward.

Ahem:
I love the quick look Jon gives the ground at 2:47ish after Dany tells (pleads?) him that she hasn't given him permission to leave. His inner thoughts seem to be, "Oh my god. I do not have time for this bullshit!"

I could see Rhaegal taking off on his own because he senses Jon needs help and Dany is like, "Where the happy fuck are you going?" and takes off after him on Drogon with Viserion in tow. Then Viserion gets killed beyond the wall and becomes the Night King's ice dragon. Although I saw another theory of an ice dragon being buried in the wall and the Night King resurrecting it.

Poor Jorah. Jon's got his sword, his woman, and his father's love...
"Where is the King?"
"He was lost beyond the wall, Khaleesi."
"What?!"
"Yes, he tripped and fell on my sword... Uh, saving me from a dead...the Night King. And like six White Walkers. And a mammoth."
*swoon cry*
"Can I bring you anything, Khaleesi?"
"Please, leave me be."
"...goddammit!"

I hope Arya figures it out before she kills Sansa over some bullshit. Idk why they let Littlefinger live so long in their keep anyway. He has NEVER done good for anyone or anything...all he does is plot and scheme. Also, these last few episodes definitely feel way rushed! Dickon who??? I barely had time to realize he was a Tarley before he was killed! I guess the books will go more in-depth....

LF has saved some asses along the way of his plotting and scheming. Save for less time being spent on him the last 2 seasons, he is one of my favorite characters. Most people don't know of his actual plotting and scheming. He hasn't done anything that they know about that they would kill him for. Yet.

There's lots of foreshadowing there. Sansa recognized the dagger LF gave Bran and how valuable it was and she said "Littlefinger" doesn't do anything out of the goodness of his heart. LF gave that dagger to Bran for a reason, perhaps to align himself with who he feels is the true King of Winterfell, but I don't think he expected him to make that "chaos is a ladder" comment. Bran is a variable that Littlefinger can't anticipate. He can sow the seeds of distrust among Arya and Sansa all he wants but Bran sees all.......all it would take is one spot on comment from Bran for Arya to realize what is really going on and *siccum*....light's out for LF.....most likely with that same dagger.

The pace has increased so much and has thrown out the concept of time. That's my main criticism of this season. It used to take whole seasons or at least multiple episodes for characters to travel great distances. Now they are moving between Dragonstone, Winterfell, Kings Landing, The Wall between scenes. Is this months in GoT time? Yet is the war etc is still going on at this time?

Seems like there's a lot of people on the interwebs who completely misunderstood why Dany told Jon she hasn't given him her permission to leave, and that she was just being controlling, obnoxious, and bitchy. Facial mannerisms aren't that hard to read, are they?

So why is Brienne being sent away by Sansa? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around some of the stuff happening in Winterfell.
EDIT: So Petyr implied that Brienne would step in between the girls if one of them was to harm the other, and defend the victim. Is Sansa sending her away because she doesn't want Brienne to have to do that, or is she sending her away so that Sansa can safely get rid of Arya?

Well shit..... What I want to know is....where did they get those big ass chains in the middle of nowhere to pull it out of the water...? I've seen this concern about the chains a few places, and I don't get it. Like, why can't it just be that the Night King had chains that he got from some place at some time? Why do the chains need a backstory?
