Always loved Kirk's leads especially on the first 5 albums, however i've watched a few videos of him lately has made me question his ability, specifically the 3 below. Just wondering what guys you think.

In terms of technical ability he appears to have improved very little from the first album.
Live he has never been one to just play everything spot on which I'm okay with, but he had that stage where he just drowned everything in wah to mask he wasn't even trying anymore.
His tone is bad and control and vibrato are fucking appaling.

His performance at "The Night Before" show was possibly the worst I've ever seen him play.

Kirk was the reason I learned to play leads. Sadly, his playing has nose dived over the last 15 years to the point where its just horrible to watch. Its like he's not even playing to the same song sometimes.
What's baffling though is that he'll fly through the solo for Frayed Ends or something as nutty almost flawlessly, yet stumble his way through the intro to One or Sanitarium.
That video above where he is playing with that other guy is horrendous. He is way off key and is shredding like some 14 year old at a guitar shop. His tone for his solos sounds like the guitars for ZZ Top or Cream, not a metal band, not even close.
I was very happy with the leads on DM though, I think he killed it on that album contrary to what most would have to say.
I am looking forward to see what he does on the new record, I really hope he knocks it out of the park. I hate watching one of my heroes degrade to the shit player that they sometimes are these past years.
