Contrary to my earlier comments, I really like this album from start to finish. The first time I can say that about a Mastodon album since Crack The Skye.

Not feeling this one, guys. I enjoy 3 or 4 songs. Even then it just makes me wanna go back to older stuff. They peaked pretty hard with Crack the Skye.

I dig the album, the only below par song is Show Yourself and I wouldn't even call it a bad song, it just doesn't belong on the album, it sounds like a Songs for the Deaf b-side.
Jaguar God is one of the best songs they've even written in my opinion, Brent's awesome intro, Brann's verses weirdly almost sound like Ghost or something, Brent's chicken pickin guitar noodle, and Troy's last part where he's screaming "It's right in front of me, your malignancy" is just fucking epic.

I think Show Yourself is actually one of the better and most memorable songs on the album. But all in all, it's a great record. Sultan's Curse, Precious Stones and Jaguar God are awesome tracks.

There's not a bad song on there, nor are there really annoying moments that fatigue you when listening to it like they have been on the last couple of albums.
I love it. Best since Crack The Skye, and along with Leviathan, it makes up my top three albums by the band.

Until there's a legit announcement with a release date artwork I don't believe it's happening.

Sounds cool. I think I will enjoy this release more than the actual new album.

I really like the whole EP. Its varied but maintains a consistent thread, and the solos and atmosphere are great. The ending to Cold Dark Place is amazing.

I think i only liked 3 songs off Emperor of Sand (Sultan's Curse, Show Yourself, Jaguar God), i would've liked it alot better if Blue Wash and Toe to Toes were included.

Definitely a Mastodon fan, but not feeling the Hush and Grim album (except the Teardrinker and Savage Lands tracks).
