BME is overrated and The Blackening is better than it.
It would be nice though, if Rob didn't just dickride every new metal trend and instead, look to something else (that isn't fuckin emo) for inspiration. But whatever, what do you expect from musicians past 40 other than doing what is right for the money. They can't do this shit forever and would like to retire some day. People should definitely not put much hope and weight into aging bands. *cough*

Calling someone a "brother" implies a level of closeness over a significant period of time. That closeness would result in you knowing that your "brother" is a racist.
So the only possible scenarios could be:
- Phil is not a racist.
- Phil is a racist, but he and Robb weren't even close enough for Robb to notice, meaning they weren't "brothers".
The lyric and statement is stupid.

And I've said it before, even the initial video was about publicity. In that racism video he slips in the troubles with his house. The guy has money problems. He had to do a lawsuit settlement with Adam Duce.

I liked The Blackening but after that Machine Head just got unbearable. Robb's vocals are awful and his cookie monster vocals sound like a kid having a tantrum.

Has their been a Nu-Metal revival or something ? Flynn has always been a genre bandwagon hopper (going from groove metal to nu metal to metalcore etc). I didn't like their metalcore stuff but it makes no sense to go back to Nu-Metal.

Never was a huge fan of them until I really took a deep dive into their music this year. Unfortunate to see, but after some of the stuff I've read, I'm not necessarily surprised. It's unfortunate, but I hope that Robb keeps going on in some form, definitely a fan of his vocal style/guitar work. Same goes for Phil.

At least Robb has admitted he's cancer in the band. At the same time he's 'the guy', but, a guy people get tired of working with/for.
I also firmly believe this is a purposeful tactic on Robb's part. Be the sole remaining member, take all the money. A timeless strategy in the band business. Robb's 'soul searching' will include finding new members that will work for cheap as yes-men.
When you are that main guy that writes the music, you can be a cunt, get long time members tired of you, they leave, and then take in a large portion of what they used to make, hire new cheap musicians. You can also politic on certain members to get them fired for the same end result. (Adam Duce) Taking a bigger slice of the pie than what you had in the beginning.
