One of my favourite topics.
The riff sounds like Abigail from King Diamond.
Cool song.
6.5/10
I was thinking of posting Phantasmagoria by Annihilator but because of that song, I decided to post this instead:

Holy crap, ok so it wasn't just me. I can't post a new song since my phone is fucked at the moment, but last night I heard that first song was also thing this sounds like a bad cover of a king diamond song. I love King Diamond sooooo much and the lyrics to that first song were so cheesy that only King Diamond can pull off something like that. The riff made me think of ''Help'' (and a bit of Hammer Head from Flostam and Jetsam) and lyrics were almost like somthing off of Give me your Soul Please or The Grave Yard. King Diamond Forever! So yeah that first song would work for me only if it was a King Diamond song, I hate those dramatic female singer deals. I'll let someone else rate Abigail and post a new song. I just had to share these thoughts. I was going to post Behind these walls or the Girl in the Bloody Dress as my reply but can't. I've been meaning to start a King Diamond thread. Maybe I'll go do that now.

6/10: that was enjoyable. idk how often i'd go out of my way to listen to it but i would not be upset to hear it again! AND THAT ALBUM COVER LOOKS FAMILIAR!
i cannae fucking mind if i shared this one on the old metbb thread but here yis go, it only last 2 minutes so you'll survive:

That wasn't for me. 5/10 I chose the live version because Annihilator is far better live. They sound quite robotic on the albums.

Decent thrash 6/10 :) Another Danish band, a little fun song/story. Played it in my first band and I had to "sing" it

Not really my cup of tea. I mean, I like Red hot chili peppers, but...this just didn't quite click with me. A little too much on the grunge-y side. (Different link if the one above doesn't work: link)

That put me into a slight coma. Not my thing at all.
Check out this song, these guys are a local band from Montreal who kind of made it a few years back and won all kinds of awards.

Fella, I was still in primary school when they made it, now I'm on university stint II! I loved this song back in '07 but I don't think it has held up too well. It's far too over-wrought and over long, I'm afraid, that said I still really enjoy this song. Though Neon Bible is my favourite album by them (just), I can't help but think everything they've done since has lacked the urgency and immediacy that made Funeral such a powerful record. Still a good 7.5/10 though down from a 9/10 back in the day. Btw, are you familiar with Suuns? Probs my favourite Montréal based act of the moment (and there's a lot of good stuff going on there just now!). Anyhoo, get yir dancing boots on, lads:

Anyhoo, get yir dancing boots on, lads: Got my head moving up and down straight away. It was an alright song. A bit too monotonous (duh) for my taste though (that's probably why I only like 7 Suicide songs), but pretty cool. I saw part of a live gig by them more than 10 years ago at a festival. Haven't heard them since. I give it a 2/5.

5/10: I can never remember whose voice the singer reminds me of. It isn't Brian Molko or Brett Anderson but someone else who was in on the more eyeliner-d branch of British mid-late '90s rock. This was good, as per Kent, tho I'd have bumped the score up to 6/10 if you'd posted 'En himmelsk drog' instead ;)

Interesting song. B ut I didn't like the vocals. I would like it better instrumental. 6.5/10

8/10 good stuff, not what I was expecting. The singers choice of an outfit is a bit silly and I laughed at the ginger on cello, he seemed out of place. The song is cool though, I will check out these guys out. Always knew the name but never heard them before.

7/10: Goth af, I love it. Reminds me a bit of Chris Benoit's old entrance theme (my another Canadian band but I can't remember which), I like the Eastern influences going on there too: really made the track interesting. This is a band I'm going to explore further, I think.

5/10. It was alright. Kinda reminded me of ...And you will know us by the trail of dead. I think I need some stronger melodies or maybe a more catchy groove to appreciate it a bit more than I did though.

8.5/10: lightning master, did you drop a Slowdive track just for me? you know i love me some shoegaze and that is a classic! 5/10. It was alright. Kinda reminded me of ...And you will know us by the trail of dead. I think I need some stronger melodies or maybe a more catchy groove to appreciate it a bit more than I did though. Aaaaahhhh, ...Trail of Dead are another of my favourite bands! i actually came close to editing my post and putting in a different song of theirs: it was was only after i posted that i realised the song i did was a little intense and reptitive and while on the album sits well (and i meant to exhaust you) it might not be good on its own.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The riff is pretty cool. Catchy. The singers voice is good but I didn't like her singing 'she will' repeatedly. 7.5/10

I like it instrumentally. Riffing is straightforward but still good. Some nice lead guitar stuff. Vocals sort of bring it down, though I guess they're passable enough. 6/10

Of course when I decide to interrupt an album, the damn thing is 13 minutes long. But thankfully it was a very good one. 8/10

Christ, that band brings back memories of my youth. Not listened to BR in years. Glad you posted that, I'd forgotten how awesome they are. Time to add them back to the eyePod.

Pretty enjoyable overall. Nothing really grabs me other than the riff at the beginning and the little soft, jammy section in the middle. That riff at 3:21 just comes out of nowhere and doesn't really do anything for me.

The singer sounds like a mix between Joakim Cans (Hammerfall) and Jocke Berg (Hardcore superstar) to me. The song is okay. Manages to stay on the right side and not sound that tacky despite those Sarah Brightman-ish vocals and mighty male choir which I associate with tacky power metal. Some nice melodies in there. I'll give it a 6/10.
