The Ballas of Buster Scruggs - Just loved everything about it. Can't believe how consistent the Coens remain to this day. Especially loved both Tim Blake Nelson and Tom Waits' stories.
Ozark - The lady and I both way into this. Loving Jason Bateman's understated yet brilliant performance, hits the same sweet spots in my mind that Bryan Cranston and Breaking Bad did.

People are going nuts over the BBC series Bodyguard in the UK, didn't bother watching it. I watched some clips, seems gritty and cool. Bodyguard on BBC was pretty awesome If you like boring shows. Maybe 2 of the 10 episodes were thrilling, the otherones were just talk. |

Hill House has been very good so far. I loved the directing. It's not scary at all. But it is intense, unnerving, uneasy and I love the drama aspect in it. Again: if you like boring shows. Maybe 2 of the 10 episodes are thrilling. I'm sure the story is good but it is pretty complicated. Even the flashbacks have flashbacks ... |

Finally got a hold of "Ash versus the Evil Dead" season 3. So far it's alright. Not too excited with the direction it's headed, but it's still fun. It doesn't lack in gore, that's for sure.

Ozark Season 2 - Good but not great. Still entertaining but some of the plotting is silly, and it's really hard to care about anyone because they're pretty much all terrible people. Coolest character was the old sick dude and he's dead now.
Also, why the hell hasn't someone just killed the Snells? Near as I can tell it's one crusty old couple and maybe a few farm hands. The Langmores alone could take them out, let alone the cartel, not sure why the show still acts as if they're untouchable.
Also, as soon as it was clear the FBI was investigating, A) The entire casino plan would'ce been cancelled or shelved, and B) The cartel would probably just kill everyone who knew anything.
Definitely not Breaking Bad level awesome.

Welp, we finally gave in to the hype and started watching Stranger Things over the weekend, and... it's really fucking good actually. Well acted, well written, well directed, great characters. So far we're hooked, just starting Season 2.

Yessssss. Stranger Things is fucking stellar. OK, the second season wasn't QUITE as strong as the first one, but still awesome. I'm definitely excited for the third season.

I thought both seasons were pretty damn close in quality, now eagerly waiting on Season 3 as well. The characters are so damn strong, everyone three-dimensional and real. And they found a gaggle of awesome child actors, too.

Finally started to watch the last episodes of season 11 of The X Files. For one reason or another I forgot about it after 7 episodes some months ago. I'm glad I got around to keep watching, because episode 8 (Familiar) was great! A great monster of the week episode which was just as good as many of the 90's episodes! Overall it really felt like it could've been a 90's episode. The atmosphere was great and it was quite creepy at times as well as a little funny too.

I was kind of watching Russian doll while the wife binged through it. It was good. I like those kind of time loop/ground hog day style things. Some funny mixed with serious. Good stuff.
