So I was mooching around the offical site today and looking at the stats page for every song. Apart from the obvious ones*, there was some things that made me think "Huh. Never knew that!). For example: What's cool too is that the individual song page pulls together available videos of the song being played as well as links to the show setlists.... I've not really explored the new site much but as a bit of a stats nerd, I like this!
* -Never Played- REMEMBER TOMORROW RONNIE WE DID IT AGAIN ASTRONOMY ATTITUDE BAD SEED BETTER THAN YOU THORN WITHIN BRANDENBURG GATE SLITHER SHOOT ME AGAIN RONNIE RISING CHEAT ON ME WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE WE'RE A HAPPY FAMILY CRETIN HOP CURE PURIFY PUMPING BLOOD PRINCE CHARMING MY WORLD THE MORE I SEE LITTLE DOG INVISIBLE KID FIXXXER THE HOUSE JACK BUILT FRUSTRATION FREE SPEECH FOR THE DUMB LOVERMAN
-Most Played- MASTER OF PUPPETS (1,488) CREEPING DEATH (1,431) SEEK AND DESTROY (1,423) ONE (1,344) FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS (1,331) ENTER SANDMAN (1,183) SAD BUT TRUE (1,177) FADE TO BLACK (1,102) NOTHING ELSE MATTERS (1,073)

Wow! So there is something actually good about the new site. That's cool, stats are always fun. Dirty window and Low Mans stats were a shock. I thought they'd be 10 max each or something.

I know, right?! I knew they'd played Low Man's acoustically during the '98 period but had no idea it was that much. Same with Dirty Window.

How many times you figure you have heard some of those most played songs? I'm sure I've heard Puppets somewhere near that amount, and I'm not a big fan of the song. I have gotten so sick of it over the many many years. I'll pop it on to jam along with every once in a while but I don't have the attention span anymore to just sit and listen.

Pity to think there's a high probability for The House Jack Built never getting played live. I think they'll play Fixxxer at some point since quite many are demanding it and they've even fooled around that idea. Jack though I fear will be completely forgotten. Such a great song and it could work well live too.

Seeing a gig with the setlist made up of all those unplayed songs (minus Lulu, thank you very much) would make me very, very happy.

Of all the tracks listed, "The House That Jack Built" is the one that really surprises me, for it's a great track.

I remember when Load came out there was an interview where James said they probably won't be playing the House Jack built live because the Talk box was too unstable and unreliable. Other then that, I think its one of those songs that us hardcore fans know and love but the other 95% of fans don't know it or couldn't care less if its ever played (cause is from that Load of shit album bro..) and would bore the crowd. An indoor small venue like the Filmore shows is the only place I can see it really working. Such a shame though because it is such a great song.

Imagine a setlist like this at a private venue seating only 100 people. Would be so awesome!
Free Speech For The Dumb Astronomy Shoot Me Again Slither Bad Seed Invisible Kid Purify Cure Better Than You Loverman My World Prince Charming Thorn Within The More I See Attitude
The House Jack Built Remember Tomorrow Where The Wild Things Are Fixxxer
Even better then the HQ gig setlist I made

By the time Metallica are ready to give it up and retire, I'm sure they will roll out the songs they haven't played live. Even if it's just once.

I wish metallica would actually play the songs from St. Anger. Really. I would kill to see the title track live.

I wish metallica would actually play the songs from St. Anger. I agree. Frantic should be played every once in a while. More St. Anger and Load era songs would be cool.

I wish metallica would actually play the songs from St. Anger. Really. I would kill to see the title track live. Rehearsal DVD is a pretty great option. Ronnie was a song that was requested by a chick in the M&G I was at. When the MetonTour vid was put out you can hear James talking about it, saying it happened again. So I guess its a song that has been requested a number of times. Astronomy is my favourite cover of theirs. To be honest I don't believe they could do it justice live. Best leave that one so we can just enjoy the Garage CD without people bagging the time they tried it live
