It's growing on me, but need a couple clean listens to give it a definite rating. Better than the last two fo'sho. Not really feeling that particular style, wasn't impressed with PC either. I'll keep trying though, hopefully it will click with me soon I have no problem with this music style, Mike just isn't very good at it. Before, the sheer energy of the heavy/soft dichotomy "masked" his cut/paste songwriting flaw (the whole "abrupt pause, doodle/meandering section, abrupt pause, something else coming out of nowhere-sometimeunecessarilyextendingtheendingofasong), here (I mean the new style, not this particular album) since everything is more even, it sticks out as a sore thumb. |

Yeah I meant I don't like this type of music from Opeth, I don't mind it in general. |

I agree that quite a few songs on Sorceress don't work very well. They sound like demos or ideas for songs.  |
