I think I’m gonna buy the remastered version of Burnout Paradise. I’m seriously lacking some good arcade racing in my life. Burnout Paradise is a really fun game. Strongly recommended. And it is loaded with extra content. LOADED!!! Which is superfun! (not Smithers' load)

I owned the game on PS3. Would be nice to upgrade it to PS4 though. I think the Switch version is $80, so yeah, won’t be getting that.

Microsoft buys Zenimax/Bethesda for $7.5 billion If you planned on playing future Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom/id Software games on a Playstation or Nintendo console in the future, that isn't happening. www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-09-21/microsoft-to-buy-bethesda-studios-for-7-5-billion-to-boost-xboxThis is a desperate but smart grab for them to give lost validity to the Xbox brand, that was pretty much doomed without doing something like this. (also MS can't be bothered to invent any new shit) All these games will still come to PC as MS no longer keeps games 100% exclusive to Xbox only, just console exclusivity.

Nothing to do with desperation, everything to do with building that Game Pass subscriber base.

Nothing to do with desperation, everything to do with building that Game Pass subscriber base. They were set on easily coming out on bottom another generation. This gives them a chance. They needed more exclusives, and they aren't about to make their own.

Their competition is not Sony, they don't care so much about hardware - they want subscribers. They are going to become the Netflix of gaming. This purchase is in line with that strategy.
Sony can keep playing the anti-consumer game with in game content locked to their platform and paying publishers big money for timed exclusives/content, attempting to push sales of their hardware. Microsoft will make all Bethesda games free on Game Pass day 1, and will likely still publish them for PS5 for the full RRP, while trying to get Game Pass on as many PCs, Consoles, Android devices as possible.
They just gave the industry a huge push in a different direction, leaving Sony attempting to secure victory in a market and business model that's out of date, and that only they (and their diehard fanboys) care about.
I'm hoping this is will end in a better outcome for consumers.

I suspect DOOM and Elder Scrolls will still come to PlayStation, a la Minecraft.

I'm sure it's (Xbox game pass) gonna be big. It's just the basic math doesn't seem to work, though I'm a business dullard to what do I know. Paying $10 a month for snips of royalties going to publishers vs. what will now be $70 game purchases doesn't make sense. Development costs are only increasing like crazy. MS is obviously having to pay developers to put their games on the service. I know this is a 'long term strategy' thing, but towards what? Sounds bad for the games themselves if gaming turns all subscription in the future. It's like taking movie ticket sales out of the movie industry model, except way worse. (music industry) I'm just imagining horror shows of 'live service' cancelled products you were playing. Sorry, not enough people were playing that. Or constant in-game purchase type of shit that people hated so the industry at large pulled back on it. *shrug*
This is still gonna be 'paying for timed exclusivity' type of shit. You think a game your playing is gonna stay on game pass forever? Or that most of them will even be there day 1? Probably not. MS would have to pay the entire industry off to give you 'the Netflix of gamimg.' Or, I'm missing something here, dunno.

I have played 4 games this year:
Skyrim - restarted it at the start of the year/Christmas break; first time I ever finished the main quest! :D
Minecraft - played hundreds of hours, will play hundreds more; the best game ever, no question
Banished - played about 30 hours earlier this year, but it's REALLY slow going; I don't think I will go back to that, TBH
Fallout 4 - will spend the rest of my Sunday playing it, currently about 140 hours in. I've never played Fallout 3 - sounds like I perhaps should?

Oh hai there :o
I'm playing the F1 game as usual, and bothered with Mass Effect:Andromeda. The galaxy map is fucking gorgeous, the combat is somewhat fun but what on Earth is wrong with the dialogue? It was so strong in the original trilogy, but here it's so unnatural. :|

I just finished The Last of us Part II. I loved it...More or less as much as I loved the first game. These two games have been the best gaming experiences of my life so far.
I feel a bit down now that it's over. Both games are masterpieces. <3
I have a question though: Is there no way to find your gameplay statistics? I mean how many kills and so on.

Woohoo, My brother in law gave my kids his PS4 With bunch of cool games loaded on it. Started playing "The Last of Us". It's amazing, like watching a movie you control.
System has a bunch of GTA titles, Resident Evils, Grand Turismo, some dragon shit, some Anime games.
Shits taking forever to download though, is that normal? I have all kinds of high speed blah blah blah, never takes long to download on the Switch, been over an hour and Fortnite is just about done downloading.
HoHoHo🎅🏻

Ni no kuni: wrath of the white witch: If you like Japanese anime, you will love it. It looks great! But is that really enough to call it a masterpiece? I think not. While I enjoy the game, I am constantly thinking: WTF is that? The 'monsters' look like Pokemon. You can even catch them The combat system is solid but it can be a bit chaotic on screen. There's a lot going on. So all in all I enjoy playing it but it is too much Pokemon for me to call it a great game. I think it is just good.
