I'm replaying L.A. Noire. The concept of this game is original. The idea of being a cop, looking for clues and investigating them, interrogating witnesses and deciding whether they're lying or not, following leads, sounds pretty awesome but is mostly boring  The game looks good, there's no denying that. I especially love the details in the cars. When you crash (that happens) doors and hoods and trunks fly around. In a shoot out you can see the bullet holes and you see (and hear) the glass shatter. The biggest flaw in the game is the interaction of the characters. My boss keeps yelling at me for doing everything wrong, for doing a shit job. He's demoting me to being a beat cop again but yet I solve every case. No matter what you say or do, EVERY case gets solved and I keep getting promoted. This is one of those games I have mixed feelings about. It's a good game but has its flaws. Kind of like hr's mom. |

Finished Black Mesa. Though Half Life was considered by many the best FPS single player ever, this remake now definitely is. They don't make'em like this anymore.

Streets of Rage 4 is so fucking good. what do you do in the game? Bash people. Basically you're a good guy (or girl) cleaning up the crime ridden streets of a nameless major city. It's a beat 'em up series from the late 80's and early 90's that I grew up with on the Sega MegaDrive (that I still play regularly). The last entry in the series was 1994 until today when SoR 4 was released. |

My other friend had a Megadrive with a gazzilion games!  A while ago I got the Megadrive Collection on my ps3. Oooh, the memories  |

A few years ago I bought a modded MegaDrive with region switching, overclocking and S-Video and started collecting all the games I used to own back in the day, plus games I wanted to own...plus games I just come across. It's great. I have way too many consoles and now a PC. I'm mainly about retro games, retro style games, or simple games these days. Modern games are mainly a miss for me, but occasionally some greatness still comes out...I only really opened myself up to Nintendo stuff a year or so ago when I got a Switch. Such an amazing console with so many retro and indie games, and of course modern Nintendo first party tiles are pure fun.

Anyone here use the PS Now service through their Sony Blu-ray player instead of a console? I've been playing with the idea to get that setup, much cheaper to buy 2 controllers and pay 8 bucks a month for unlimited game access, rather than shell out $700-800 for the system. It's more for the kids, I don't play much these days.
Thoughts?
