I'm the 1000th member of the Metallica Family. My GTA5 Online crew on PS3. They have a cool Metallica logo with the winged scary guy. You can add the logo to your clothes (when you reach rank 10 in your crew). One of the guys I was playing 'survival' with asked me where I got that jacket. It is so cool when people appreciate what you've done

You can take that in any number of ways “I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers,” Spencer told Game Informer. “I don’t know anything about any of the rumors that are out there, but I can understand other teams’ motivations to do that. For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it’s reliable, the servers are doing well. If we’re going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people — an upgrade.” He says "I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half"This was in response to a question about the PS4K - rumoured to be 2X the power of PS4, so the media take this as Phil saying he's not a big fan of bringing out a new xbox so soon. But... Then he immediately says "If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers"So you could interpret that as him saying he's not a fan of putting out a box with a meagre power increase. But then he straight away does the typical Phil Spenser back track reinforcing that he is somehow happy with the Xbox market position But not before throwing another cock tease out there; "If we’re going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people — an upgrade.”Now that said, the media have latched onto MS are are not bringing out an upgraded or a completely new Xbox, strange that especially as he is the one that brought this up a couple of weeks ago, on stage... So are MS going to do nothing? When; PS are bringing out an upgraded console Retail VR is out in the wild PS has a retail VR solution inbound If MS does nothing here and VR takes off big time then they may as well throw in the towel. Literally, xbox would have no marketable features. What they need a partnership, with an established VR provider... but that would need a "substatial change" in xbox power output, we're talking "big numbers"... Where would they find that sort of partnership though?

Yeah Xbox 1.5 wasn't really a rumour, he outright said they're updating the hardware. His previous statement: "We see on other platforms whether it be mobile or PC that you get a continuous innovation that you rarely see on console. Consoles lock the hardware and the software platforms together at the beginning of the generation. Then you ride the generation out for seven or so years, while other ecosystems are getting better, faster, stronger. I believe we will see more hardware innovation in the console space than we've ever seen. You'll actually see us come out with new hardware capability during a generation allowing the same games to run backward and forward compatible. We can effectively feel a little bit more like we see on PC, where I can still go back and run my old Doom and Quake games that I used to play years ago but I can still see the best 4K games come out and my library is always with me".
This is just an issue with wording. Xbox 1.5 sounds like a half-step, it doesn't sound positive. The PS4.5 rumours are calling it PS4K which is more along the lines of the kind of messaging they'll want, given the power required for 4K, and the rumours suggest the PS4K GPU is twice as powerful as the current one so .5 makes it sound worse than it is. And I agree with Alan, if an Xbox upgrade happens I'd bet heavily that they'll partner with Oculus; they already have a couple of deals going with them and I'm sure Oculus would be more than happy to significantly broaden their potential market.

and just no add to the show that the media are taking what he saidin such different ways, we have metro taking it as MS starting a new gen. metro.co.uk/2016/04/04/phil-spencer-hints-at-xbox-two-console-not-1-5-upgrade-5793923/But if this incremental starts happening (it is going to happen) "new Generations" are out the window. This is going to be a brand new static / non-upgradable box, that is going to be fully compatible with Xbone and most likely 360 and I imagine MS will have a licensing clause that will force non-VR games to be fully compatible with both Xbone and XboxVR (i'm going to call it that i think) for at least the next 4 years. People are calling "Fecking bastards, if they do this I am going to never....blah blah blah... I'll pen a sternly worded letter and.... then buy it anyway...." They really don't have a choice. They are painted into a corner and it looks like VR is going to go off.

It might well have the appearance of the start of a new generation, even if it is more of an upgrade, simple due to the stigma and negativity still attached to the Xbox One name after its awful reveal event. They'll probably prefer to start with afresh with a different name, whereas Sony will likely stick to the PS4 name because it's doing so well.

Yes 100% it will be getting a new name and it will champion all the advertising, but it won't be classed as a new gen because of all the Xbones still out there.

I wanna get it but I don't have much time to play these days, so I guess I'll have to wait a bit.

I am now playing it solo and am about 6 hours in and its amazing, its on par or if not better than Dark Souls 1. Its alot better than Dark Souls 2 but that isn't too difficult. Its like they took the best things about DS and Bloodborne and combined them together, the combat does not follow Bloodborne though, its still slow and you have to calculate your moves. I was a bit deflated with the Dark Souls name after the disappointing Dark Souls 2 but now I have been bitten by the death bug and am 100% obsessed with the series again.

Playing Rainbow 6 Seige, really awesome, yet basically impossible without playing with friends.
Theres no opportunity to learn how to play, just constant death.
I think I'm getting to old for modern, complicated games. Most games feel like a chore now, they require significant effort to learn. Gone are the days of simple, fun games, with intuitive menus and UI's.

Playing Rainbow 6 Seige, really awesome. I love that game, it's right up there with counter strike for me Does it get easier? I was in a party with a couple of mates last night and it was really fun, trying to play on my own today and I can't work it out. Just die immediately, wait for new round, and repeat. It's impossible to work out how to play the game, because you just die through walls/floor/ceiling over and over. So frustrating!

Very hard to play alone especially cause its super rare to find bunch of randoms communicating and playing it right , games like that are designed to be played as a squad. its not gonna get much easier really but try playing as a roamer when alone just move around flanks and do risky moves. way more rewarding than relying on strangers with 0 common sense.

PS4K was some name dreamed up by the Internet. 4k gaming would cost many many many many many many many many hundreds right now. No console is delivering 4K for many years

This current gen has been nothing but lameness. released with outdared hardware , remasters after remasters , shitloads of hyped mediocre games and now they wanna move on already. lame.
Has any of you encountered the "LAN CABLE NOT CONNECTED" error on PS4? i have been getting it for the past 2 weeks , changed everything , it still does it. only thing that slowed it down was changing the router but it still does it just way less frequently. Seen some topics about it on PS websites and no one knows how to fix it , its so fucking annoying getting a random disconnect for split of a second just enough to ruin your session and get back on instantly.

You'd have to be crazy to think a console will run AAA games at 4K anytime soon. It was called PS4K (by the community, not Sony) because it will output at 4K. PS3 and Xbox 360 output at 1080p but the vast majority of games never ran at that resolution (many still don't even this gen). Anything pre-rendered and movies will be able to run at 4K and everything else can be upscaled though so it will look better on a 4K TV but yeah, not much is going to run at that resolution this gen other than some indie stuff with simple graphics.

Basically a glorified n64 expansion pak. I've said it before, I can think of one reason and that's the PS VR is not up to scratch on vanilla PS4 Look at the specs required for Vive and Oculus. People seem to think a PS4 is a super computer or something, just because it's head and shoulders above Xbox. It's a piece of shit. Xbox is just utter shit.

Basically a glorified n64 expansion pak. I've said it before, I can think of one reason and that's the PS VR is not up to scratch on vanilla PS4 Yeah but their policies indicate that all games have to release on both PS4 and Neo and gameplay has to be indentical between the two with no exclusive modes or features. PSVR games have to run at a minimum 1080p/60fps so any game on the Neo will have to be designed with the lowest spec in mind regardless. Neo PSVR games will probably get a framerate boost to 90fps, which is preferable for VR, but given that gameplay itself must be identical it's still limited to simpler games that can run on the old PS4. I think overall this policy is positive as it doesn't split the userbase and piss people off for feeling forced to upgrade to get missing features, but at the same time it's going to hold the upgraded hardware back and make it a bit more pointless.
