Well, now we know why Metallica was so quiet this winter... James Hetfield was busy filming his next movie, a western horror called "The Thicket" with Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis.
Hetfield plays Sherriff "Big Bill" Hickey.
Sheriff Hickey is said to be a larger-than-life lawman, embodying the rough-and-tumble spirit of early 20th century East Texas. He is a big, imposing man with a no-nonsense attitude and a strong sense of justice. Hickey's character is known for his practicality and his willingness to do whatever it takes to maintain order in a lawless land. His methods can be unconventional and brutal, reflecting the harsh realities of the time and place in which he operates.

Looks great with or without James. I hoping we get a scene of something like -its the aftermath of some town shoot out craziness, bodies lying around, fire, panicked horse's, crying wives etc. James is strolling through with his crew taking in the all the destruction they caused. James walks by a dead old guy on a porch and takes the blood stained guitar lying next to the dead guy. As they walk through the horror James starts playing some beautiful NEW song we've never heard before, very somber sounding about dead souls crossing over or something. The guitar builds up and then boom, the Band kick in hard and we cut to some montage of the bad guys riding through landscape scenery and shots of the other characters doing stuff and their struggles etc, back to James and crew slaughtering another town or stuff like that.
Wishful thinking...

Looks like a great production. I didn't love Het in the Ted Bundy movie, but this looks like a way more fitting role.

the movie is based on the Joe R Lansdale novel of the same name.
