The Unforgiven isn't even the greatest of the Unforgivens. And Master of Puppets, while a great song, is overrated.

Love both but I'd take Unforgiven over MoP right now. To me that song is a masterpiece. It's a palette of sounds and emotions: melancholy, heaviness, melody, softness; all stitched together by some of Hetfield's best crafted lyrics. I've attended advanced level courses of English as a second language where the lyrics got analysed and proposed to be worked on with sudents. You know Metallica made it big when these things happen!

And the video is pretty awesome and fitting, unlike many other Metallica videos which can be pretty shit.
Unforgiven is up there with their greatest work.
I remember hearing it for the first time and being completely blown away, I was always a sucker for more emotional sounding music, even back when I was 10.
One is definitely top 3, even though it's so overdone. Right mood, the peek of the "Classic" Metallica ballads, great video, first video, Metallica at their "Metal" peek. All that stuff destroys MOP IMO.
