Being that I feel like I've got a really good grasp on all the new songs now, I figured I'd go ahead and start us of.

Doing 25 to include LOS in there. This is also gonna change by the hour for me, but I surprised myself by putting some stuff so low like Room of Mirrors. Also I think how much the band loves a song affects my love of it as well; Confusion is higher up on my list because I enjoyed listening to live versions and the S&M2 version. But if, say, Murder One got that same treatment I might not have been so harsh on it. Overall I still think Moth is the best song they've made this century; it's perfectly written, has great performances and cool parts from everyone, catchy vocals, pretty much everything that a classic Metallica song needs.

Besides the production (which I'm starting to notice subtle differences in) they stand separately more than I was expecting them to. Lars even plays the drums a lot differently than he did during HW; definitely hitting a lot lighter, and sadly a lot less fills. I think you can count the amount of tom fills on the album with one hand.

I gotta say, I just listened to Room of Mirrors while walking outside, and I found myself really getting into it. The intro is completely separate from the rest of the song and totally disposable. If the song started from the riff after the intro, it would be better. But other than the pointless intro, the song is actually pretty damn good! Thusly, I have re-ranked Mirrors from 20th to 12th, and edited my list up there accordingly.
