In impressed with the album, based on Lux I wasn't initially.
Inamorata is great, mirrors, burn, light, a more consistent album for me than the last.

Lux and Suicide got a lot better when listened to within the context of the whole record. Same thing happened to me with the last album. I listened to Moth into Flame and Atlas. To this day I skip them every time. I honestly cant see the praise Moth gets. It is mediocre at best for me. |

Love it,even though the punchy chorus is recycled from the "Father blah blah come home" part of confusion. This one is so good. Their choice for the early singles is really a mind fuck now that we have the whole album to compare them to. |

4 singles was too much imo. i wish it was just Lux Aeterna for a month and a half and then new album.
i want to hear it all fresh and in album order. i just dont have the discipline to not listen if it's out there.

That is 7 songs I really enjoy. So for me, best album since TBA. I "did not expect this".
After Lux, I was expecting HWTD and LULU had a baby. Turns out Load and TBA had a baby instead.
EDIT: Oh FK, forgot Crown and darkness and suicide. The last two there I just listened to them tooooo much. But great songs.
Sleepwalking is ok for me, not catching me yet. But it has promise.
So that is only one song I'm not hot for atm, which is Lux. Honestly, not exagerating, best album since TBA. It isn't AJFA or MOP, but it is up there with TBA for me, though it won't have the same impact.

Ye. I feel confident in crowning this album.
I'm quick to warm or not an album. Didn't like St Banger, loved and still do 4 songs from DM, and only liked 4 songs from HWTSD, same.
I haven't enjoyed a met album like this since TBA came out. Threw a hissy fit when Load came out, warmed to it later. The only album I got wrong initially, but I hated it at first and then it grew on me.
I remember listening to each track off TBA with intrigue. Same with this one.
I'll certify this one a banger, and I think this will take off in the culture like TBA did.

-No ballad - especially for a record this long and dense. it needed that breather.
-Sleepwalk and You Must Burn.
They're the most straight forward and un-hooky songs on the album - they are also 2 of the longest songs AND they're back to back. it really creates slog and bogs down the flow of the album.
Those songs have no business being 7 minutes long. Both should have had about 90 second shaved off and should have been split up

I really liked Confusions, Revenge and Spit out the bone. There are a couple I think are ok, and a few I just wont listen to like Moth.

that's funny you hate Moth considering most people consider that to the best song on the record. (for me its like 4th or 5th best)

It's one of the better ones off HWTSD and gave me a boner when they released because it was epic at the time with a lot of the ingredients we crave. I can certainly understand that. On a side note; watching James lose his shit at the end of that performance was so satisfying though. I would not have wanted to have been within 100 feet of James at that moment. Holy smokes. |
