I could probably rate HW/72 up there if I was asked point blank, but If I were to directly compare to the old albums, or even other bands best stuff, then the difference is much much bigger than one or two points. Probably more like 72s 4 if Ride is a 9 |

Those four you listed are definitely fantastic albums in their own right, but to me, Hardwired stands far above all other Metallica albums. Just a personal preference. |

On the rock station I listen to while I work, at lunch you vote in for 3 songs based on a theme. Today's theme was songs that are turning 40 this year. Fade to Black was one of the choices. I felt really old😥
