I personally like it but alot of people don't. There's alot of different styles on there which i like and also some experimentation from the band. What is interesting is that they went back to a tighter style with DM and HWTSD partly due to the fan backlash and we'll probably get the same on 72 Seasons. Some great songs on it with Until it Sleeps, The House that Jack Built, Bleeding Me and Wasting my Hate. Opinions?

He's played the same riff for years. It's in my top 3 Metallica albums. I can always pop it on, and it lifts my mood. Some of their greatest work on there. Yes. I've still got the CD i bought in 96, pre volume wars it could be sonically improved. Very interested to hear your reasoning for this given that, for most, the Load through Garage period is the best the band have sounded on record. |

I once found a CD travel case that fit 50 CDs or something in it. Full of absolute late nineties, radio shit garbage. Like fat chick romantic stuff and boy bands. But, there was a copy of Load in there! So random, I tossed most, gave some to my sisters because they enjoy lame music, and kept Load and the case. I always assumed it must have been some girls boyfriends CD she's had in there with the rest. I still have that copy, and was stoked when I found it because I had Load on cassette and was in the process of upgrading my collection to CDs.

I love Load and Reload too for that matter. Both have very cool, confident vibes with great production. And both albums feature some of the best musical moments Metallica boys have ever done. I am talking about masterpiece levels.

I never saw the Fan Can so I don't know if this was in it originally, but around 13 minutes in they're working on what will become Until It Sleeps, but in its current form sounds like a totally new Metallica song. The last time I got to hear Metallica riffs that were new to me, but were written before the 2000s, was when I was getting into the band. This is awesome.

Is that Until It Sleeps? It sounds like an unreleased song/riff to me, it kinda bears some resemblance to one of the bits James played at Guitar Center in recent years.

I like it, although it was my first Metallica album when I got into them 2 years ago, so maybe that it why.
I especially like "Until It Sleeps" and "Mama Said", those songs are really good.
And James was also really really cute on that album, so that is certainly a plus. ^^

There's some good stuff on those albums but there was really no reason for a Re-Load. they should have just done like they did with the Magnetic sessions and put out the best songs and been done with it.

I used to think 2x4 is something of a universally agreed upon standard since I'm from a metric country and nobody'd have any trouble understanding what was being discussed if I mentioned using 2x4s to build some part of my backyard patio but evidently it's not as clear cut as that. Like the song itself, 2x4, I just went "oh yeah a piece of wood, high-brow stuff" when I first heard it.
