It's funny how they go into great detail about how they make sure everyone hears the exact same perfect show, yet everyone who has been to a show had something bad to say about one night or the other.

People love to complain and they always know it better. It’s not complaining when something is not good, it’s just stating the facts. Tix are expensive, the absolute minimal requirements are that you can hear the music. No one is paying that amount of money just to be able to complain about something afterwards. Everyone at those shows wants the best possible experience. It literally has nothing to to with knowing better.

Yeah, I've read tons of folks saying they couldn't hear James guitar or Kirk's for half the show, or even a jumbled mess of sounds during some songs. Even in this thread. Well, I got absolutely the shitiest tickets possible 😂 I'll let you know how bad or good it sounds from my 10,000 feet elevated seats.

Hurry up already! I want my 11 to be down to 8! Did you enter the meet and greet contest? Also, 3 days and snake Pit is still TBD🥺 All entered! I should know by tomorrow night on that at least. But I'm pretty confident Snake Pit contest won't be a thing at least for my show :( the NYC market is too rich to leave any of those passes leftover.

If the forecast doesn't change there's a 0% chance Friday's show is happening.

I watched that video someone here posted up about the behind the scenes audio/visual aspect of the show. I really enjoyed that, so thank you to the poster. Having moved into the AV Industry at the start of this year it was very relatable. For those about to attend a show (weather pending by the sounds!) I am super keen to hear your thoughts about sound quality etc like Kimbo reported. I wont have the chance to experience it down here for myself

How is all that equipment waterproof? Unless there is lightning, the show goes on, but there's so many cables and stuff, you can't tent up everything.

All AV equipment and wiring is way more waterproof than you think. Outside of getting submerged for a long period of time, most of that can take a huge beating. I'm pretty sure one of the 2019 Metallica Monday's is a show they got absolutely dumped on for 2 hours straight.

If you say so 😂 I'd still rather not stand near all that stuff during a downpour.
You're here dude! It is your weekend. Have a blast and be sure to have a report ready.

Night one impressions:
- Wolfie puts on a great show. He’s been opening for everyone lately so this ended up being the third time I’ve seen him, and he’s never disappointed. The new album also blows the first one out of the water - Pantera was exhausting in a great way. I could’ve gone home after that because of how headline-quality that performance was. Everyone loved it. - The first four songs for Metallica were the highlight for me because Lars happened to pop up on my part of the stage first. It felt like I was seeing them in a small club for a bit - After the kit moved the energy died down around me. I was there alone and wasn’t towing a group around so I ended up moving to the other side of the floor to see better - Pantera utilized the stage and made sure the whole floor got to see everyone up close the whole show way better than Metallica did. Zakk, Rex, and Phil all made their rounds every couple songs but Metallica mainly clustered near the kit (Kirk wandered a bit more than the others) - The guys were a little sloppy tonight but the sound of this setup is unbelievable. It’s night and day compared to when I saw them a few years ago and the drums sounded weak as hell through the PA. Not sure if Lars is using snare triggers now but every hit sounds monsterous - Shadows Follow!!! - Last time I saw them Kirk messed up the NEM intro, and boy howdy he did it again - Doodle returns! Still sounded not great but it was wholesome - Seek & Destroy had the ball drop from the DM days, except the stage is so low Lars kept getting punted! His big china fell on top of him before the drum break, and cymbals fell probably another 6 times. Rob was bodyguarding the kit so more didn’t fall. I was laughing because their faces were 😳😳

I've never seen Metallica 2 days apart, a few months between two cities, yes, but this is unreal, especially the 2 completely different sets aspect. You still have the energy in you😅? One year at Heavy Montreal Metallica was night 1, Slayer was on night 2. I was so drained and burnt out for Slayer but it was still amazing.

Based on watching videos alone, 72 Seasons, Shadows Follow and You Must Burn appear to be the best live songs from the new album. The others are not bad by any stretch but the vocals seem a bit lacking in the others...but its a whole different thing when you're there. Keen to hear the full review of the new songs from Bmus.

In the middle of Too Far Gone, the wooh oh oh oh part, the highlight of the song, of course Rob has to throw up in the microphone. It would be so much better if James did that and Rob did the shouting "I am desperation" etc. BMus1 did the crowd at least sing along with Rob? Can't hear much audience from that clip.

Night two impressions!
- Idk a better way to put it other than you need to "be good" at knowing where this band is going to be on this stage to have a really great time all night. Going alone has its pros and cons, but what made it worth it was the ability to move with Lars's kit as it rotated. The pattern stayed the same between night one and night two, and the crowd wasn't packed at all on the floor if you didn't mind being 10-12 rows of people back. And for this stage, that's a better view. - Speaking of better view, this stage is optimally designed for those Lux Aeterna raised platforms. Seeing them in person made that package make some sort of sense. - The energy at the beginning of the show was crazy good. I was with a great part of the crowd and Het was parked in front of us for the first few songs. - This was the first Metallica show that I noticed the energy drop considerably in the second half. It might've happened Friday too, but I didn't pick up on it. Lars was getting suuuuper tired and dropping a lot of kick hits and slowing down a lot of fast sections (the One snare rolls and Blackened fills were the biggest ones) - Blackened!!! I've missed this song at every show I've seen til yesterday - Too Far Gone!!! I would've put money on not getting a second debut this weekend. Such a great song. - The crowd didn't give a shit about any of the 72 Seasons songs though. TFG got almost no reaction other than me and a few dudes near me (you can see me in the corner of that video!). I don't really know where that disconnect is. Maybe it's just because they've reached that legacy band age? I remember Worldwired in Foxboro had people moshing for the HW songs as much as the classics. - Moth Into Flame got a great reaction, and it's still a fun song to see live. Same thing happened with TDTNC night one. It's always nice to see these stadium crowds treat newer songs well, even if they're not vibing with 72 Seasons as much.
Overall, I had a fantastic weekend. If I had to do it all again, I'd do the same exact thing, but I'm very fine with either missing Foxboro in 2024, or getting seats for one night. This feels like a hybrid of a 72 Seasons tour, and taking the 40th anniversary concept on tour. Definitely seeing more of a greatest hits/legacy band vibe nowadays, but I think that's partially due to the stage setup they have going on. I'm still crossing my fingers for one more stripped down arena tour that's marketed more towards the hardcore fans. Somehow.
