Realistically I think the first half of the album is gonna be in rotation, plus Darkness and Crown. Inamorata will appear in a few months and be played similar to Outlaw (maybe a little more). Chasing Light won't get played live. Too Far Gone and Room of Mirrors they might work in next year or for the American leg.

I think it's first appearance will be at a special one off show like an AWMH gig or something. It'll only be brought out on very rare occasions. Now that we have Lux and Darkness already performed live, Screaming Suicide will be next off the bat. I think the first few shows will have a combinations of the first 4 singles over both nights. Maybe something like: Night 1: 72 Seasons Creeping Death The Memory Remains Harvester of Sorrow The Unforgiven Moth Into Flame For Whom The Bell Tolls One Sad But True Lux Aeterna Cyanide Fade To Black Seek and Destroy --- Battery Nothing Else Matters Master Of Puppets Night 2: Hit The Lights Ride The Lightning Screaming Suicide Wherever I May Roam No Leaf Clover Whiplash If Darkness Had A Son Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Fuel Dirty Window Holier Than Thou The Day That Never Comes Spit Out The Bone --- Blackened The Call of Ktulu Enter Sandman If they bring out a third song at each show, I think it'll be Sleepwalk and Crown up next and/or maybe Shadows/Chasing Light. I don't think they'll be up for bringing out the challenging vocal harmonies of You Must Burn, or the guitar harmonies of things like Too Far Gone or Room of Mirrors too early in the tour. |

I'm hoping the roll out of new songs will be a little faster than that. The first Hardwired show had two live debuts (Halo and Dead), and 5 songs from the album total.
I think being surprised by the album's quality is making me think I'll be pleasantly surprised with this tour too. Depends on if they utilize some of those huge breaks between cities to rehearse at all. They seem more driven to keep going physically, and personally seem closer than the Hardwired days. So I'm crossing my fingers that that translates into more setlist fun.

I watched a couple of interviews from the DM and HW days for context on the band's demeanor. They seem equally proud of 72S as they did of DM, and waaaaay more than Hardwired. I think we're gonna be getting a lot of representation in the setlists. The first year of WM consistently had 6/18 songs in the set from Death Magnetic.

It will be very interesting to see which songs works and which doesn't. Also, I remember Hetfield thinking that Revenge would be a screamer off Hardwired.
Well that wasn't really the case.
I think some of the songs lends themselves to be played life, both I can also see some of them not working at all.
I found several songs on HW to not work that well in a live setting, some were plain boring.

He clarified somewhere that the Fuel comment was taken out of context, and he just meant Chasing Light because of the vocal intro.

I thought it was tempo issues but I think it's partially the lag of Facebook Live. Bells definitely had a ton of rushing though. They're sounding solid though, SS is a cool live song.

Knowing what the setlist is and seeing how it's constructed, I'm actually more curious than ever now what they'll do for the second show on Saturday. Some swaps are really obvious and there's a few songs that are likely to be played and potential slots for them, but then there's stuff like King Nothing and Day. Logic would dictate they'd replace the former with another Load song and the latter with Halo or something but both of those changes I'd rate as pretty unlikely.

The bridge of Battery is back and here to stay! Saturday is going to be super interesting. 5 of the 7 songs they (used to) do every show have been played. Crossing my fingers for a St. Anger and Hardwired appearance to give every album some representation over the weekend. |

I would say it’s safe to assume Turn The Page will be on night two as well since they played it on Howard’s show.
I would be begging for bleeding or outlaw in place of Day or king.
But let’s see. Very hyped after day 1!
