James mentioned at one of the shows that Shadows is Lars' favorite. So expect it to stick around for a while.

Now that the tour is over I was checking out the setlist stats, and it's funny how much better this tour looks on paper. Every album plus S&M and I Disappear got represented, and they managed to play 48 unique songs. When you dive in though, it's a bummer to see a majority of their albums only have 2-3 songs performed from it.
But after having gone to shows 3 shows, I think the band is just scraping by in terms of audience engagement right now. Even knowing the setlist format for Foxborough 2024, I couldn't help but feel like I kept getting treated to some deeper cuts. Which is awesome for me, but it's probably not easy keeping a casual stadium audience captivated with 3 song runs like Sleepz/Lux/Suicide and Ktulu/Unforgiven/Inamorata.

I find that the last few times I've seen them, for the most part it's like "Yay, Fade to Black...is it over yet, what's next..." With the occasional adrenaline rush from something I haven't heard live yet, or one that I'll never get sick of like FFWF.

I find that the last few times I've seen them, for the most part it's like "Yay, Fade to Black...is it over yet, what's next..." To be honest, I felt like this at times during the 40th anniversary shows during the hits sections, and it made me kinda try hard not to do that anymore at shows. There's a part of me that's always gonna be a little sad that Metallica didn't decide to debut My World at a stadium show I went to, but I gave an extra effort at the M72 shows to just appreciate the spectacle that is Metallica, even if I've heard all of those songs live before. But like you said, I still can't help it with some of the ballads. Fade, Unforgiven, even Sanitarium I could probably go without seeing live again.

I hope this was their last stadium tour, they did well and probably made a ton of money.
Now please stick to small club shows and have fun with it. I’d like a “Metallica - No rules” tour where that just fuck about and don’t cater to anyone but themselves.

Looking forward to the acoustic gig in December.
As for the 4-date show in Mexico city, it's a pity they didn't play TLITD, and S&R. A wasted opportunity. Or at least debuting a couple of songs off the last two albums.

So happy for all the Aussie folks. Dates are rolling out, Perth confirmed November 1st 2025. Nope: www.metallica.com/tourRolling Stone AU are posting an unconfirmed rumour. It is most likely true but until it appears on official Metallica channels, it's a rumour.

Yeah I saw that last night. Hopefully correct but waiting for proper confirmation It's very probably accurate but until it comes from the band, it's a rumour. There's a post on FB that is promoting this as a confirmation and it's absolutely baffling to me how people, in the comments, just believe it without reading the actual article: That means fuck all. It's nothing. I am a well-placed source too 'cos I follow the band. Critical thinking is THE most important tool we have in this day and age of misinformation and outright bullshit. The fact that people don't get that and use it, it's deeply troubling.

Absolutely agree. People just want the news to be real.
So what you are saying is HR called RollingStone.

We'll, good luck to you guys. I'd get some funds on standby just in case. If true, tickets will probably go on sale Friday. I have no basis for that, other than my spider senses. Rumors on the weekend, confirmation/announcement today or tomorrow, mortgage your house by Friday morning, seems par with the course.

I really want to try snag Black ticket like last presale....however life is a bit different compared to then so not as easy to just decide to disappear on a jaunt around the country with a band. Last time I was also prepped to jump over to NZ for the full ride (which ultimately I did with the fam instead of Metallica)
Now it all feels like a lot to do. If Im honest Id say part of these feelings is because Im 5 years older since those tour plans fell through.

I couldn't imagine seeing this show/stage setup more than twice within a short period of time. Night 2 already felt like a chore when I saw them last time. Maybe if they do tour Australia, it'll be 5 different cities, one night each, different set in each city, that I'd go for.

Yep, gonna have to wait to see how they are planning on rolling the tour out before making any real plans. The 2 night no repeat might be aborted on this leg

Yeah, single stadiums. Was expected but was hoping for a different format.
Straight in talks with the missus about dates and travel. I dont think I am up for 2 weeks of traveling for 5 stadium shows.
5 days til presale to make some decisions (assumsing I can even secure anything like a Snakepit or a Disappear ticket)
Man, these announcements always get me pumped, even these days.

The Enhanced Experience prices are out of control, holy shit. I miss the days where you could enter a competition for a meet and greet and a snakepit pass....both of which I have never won, but now its like $4000 AUD to get in the snake pit and take a photo with two band members hahahaha

Yeah, single stadiums. Was expected but was hoping for a different format. They're abandoning the current stage as well for the Australian tour. I hope that means it'll be done away with after this Summer and not brought back out in 2026. I'm thinking they'll make a point to play 1 if not 2 Hardwired songs a night.

Agreed with the Hardwired songs, might be the reason we end up with some unique setlists

Shit man you are right.
Snake Pit is a grand. So tempting though, is the one thing left I have wanted to do with Metallica touring here.
I don't care about the drinks and fan party, I can do that anytime so its not value to me. I have a Yeti - but I'll rock a Met one if I have it.
I really can't see too many people handing over $4k for what were, not long ago, free experiences.
Got my code.... the wait continues. I think I have anxiety, whats wrong with me.
