'See us for two nights with two different opening acts where we will be playing two completely different sets… over 30 songs over the weekend… with no repeats! (Yes, that means you’ll only hear “Enter Sandman” once!)' Imagine they split the song over 2 nights just to troll us.

Imagine they play Enter Sandman twice, once with the album lyrics, once with the original crib death lyrics.

I'm actually curious what they'll do with the two separate sets thing. When they've done it so far, they did the entirety of the Black Album in one night which made it far easier to come up with sets, but there's no chance they'll do a night of all new songs. Even splitting the album over two nights would probably be too much for the casual audience in a 16-song set.

3 new songs each night per 2 night stop. 10 safe "Fuels" and "Bells" type songs. 3 slots open each night for post 2000 album tracks.

Slim chance, but it is the 40th anniversary of KEA, and The Black Album is in fresh memory for them. Plus that would still leave enough time for a few new songs and 1-2 other songs.

I really hope not. That would be boring and clichē at this point. It's a huge stadium deal, so I'd expect all the stadium hits that work best in such a large venue. Harvester, Bells, Creep, Roam, Fuel. The Load rarities, or some deep cut from Justice ( are there any real deep cuts anymore to explore from the first 5 albums?) will be scarce.
Also, if randomly they play the full new album over both nights, that would leave just enough room for the standard "Hits" 10 for each night.

Yeah I guess the variety really depends on how many new songs they end up doing. WM had 6 Death Magnetic songs a night, and the HTSD tour typically had 5 songs from that album. But no clue if the 16 song set length and the two night stand will affect how much they think they should play from the new album.

( are there any real deep cuts anymore to explore from the first 5 albums?) I'd explore more of these if I were them: Jump in the Fire Motorbreath Metal Militia Phantom Lord ---------------------- Escape Ktulu ------------------------ Leper Messiah ----------------------- Dyers Eve To Live is to Die Eye of the Beholder ------------------------- Struggle Within

Very much doubt we'll get whole albums. But we will likely get songs from 72 seasons on both nights.

I'd imagine they will split TBA hits over the 2 nights like this:
Night 1: Enter Sandman Unforgiven Through the Never (?) Seek and Destroy Ride the Ligthning MoP One
Night 2: Sad But True Nothing Else Matters Wherever I May Roam (?) The Four Horsemen Creeping Death Sanitarium Blackened
Same with the other classics.

I really hope we get 3-4 new songs each night. If they fill the sets with the greatest hits, which is 99% guaranteed, they won't have to stress their brains too much asides from the new tracks.
Also, I predict that these 6-8 new songs will have been written to be played live with energy, and simple like Lux Aeterna.

I want to go to Foxborough but there's no way in hell I'm buying tickets for a show that won't happen for a year and a half.
There's a tiny part of me that wants to go to Detroit night two since it's the last night of the 2023 tour, but I don't know if that'll makes any difference in Metallica world in terms of the setlist.

Any predictions for the tour outside of the obvious new album stuff? I'd love to see this be the year Load returns. Sleepz, King, and Bitch would all fit this era of the band so well. Wasting Hate is also overdue to come out on a tour again. They were working on the box set at some point in the last couple years, so that might've jogged their brains.
