I've never come across a guy who's so intent to infiltrate a group of people who can't stand him, so pathetically so that he has to make untold numbers of fake accounts and personas to "trick" the people who laugh at him to give him attention. Even when he's caught he still pretends like he's fooling people. Absolutely retarded behavior.

The middle section of To Live Is To Die is one of the best pieces of music they have ever written, it’s just sandwiched in the middle of the same boring riff being played for 7 mins. It’s such a shame. Although I love the intro/outro too. S&R has a nice middle section and a nice Het solo but it doesn’t hit the high of the TLITD. In my opinion both Ktulu and Orion are in a league of their own, and they are the only two instrumentals I really listen to of the four. My confidence of the band delivering an instrumental of that quality is low, but would love to be wrong. 100x this. TLITD (and parts of the entire album) have the same bloat issues that DM has. The songs are just way better of course. Cliff's composing when it comes to those instrumentals is sorely missed for TLITD and S&R. The title track being 9 minutes long has always bothered me. The intro, chorus and solo are all amazing but it just keeps on going. The Radio Edit is way better imo.

Lars has said how proud he was of the song lengths, making sure times were printed an the album cover (not unique to them though).
Song length of AJFA never felt like an issue until 30 years after it was released for me, probably after listening to it live and wanting to know whats coming up next.
Not a fan of radio edits for any band. They dont make choices in a studio so it can be cut to bits for LAMEFM.

What’s a little thing everyone is hoping for with this album? I just thought how HTSD didn’t have any Hetfield solos (except for the middle or Dead which treads the line of solo). S&R and Bullet were two of the best solos from the DM era, I’d love to hear him do one or two again. In terms of quality as good as DM hopefully. |
