Slither kinda fuckin rocks, not gonna lie. The chorus sometimes can sound a little silly to my ears, but it has such a swagger to it. I can see that or Better Than You be the next (old song) live debut.
Has HR taken control of your account? blink twice if in danger
I'm so old internet illiterate I can't figure out how to post a gif in response here
Listen... Better of You is fineeeee, they just didn't to add a 90 second outro jam on it. But those two are also my two least favorites from ReLoad, I might be getting desperate for more music lol

I kinda liked Slither back in the day, mostly the intro were it shifts to the riff. I still think that's a pretty awesome part. I can bounce my head to it. The other 95 % is pretty shit though

...And Justice For All Blackend ...And Justice For All Eye Of The Beholder One Shortest Straw Harvester Of Sorrow The Frayed Ends Of Sanity Dyers Eve Metallica Brave. But I think I agree? The novelty of TLITD and it being Cliff’s last song is greater than the song itself.

The novelty of TLITD and it being Cliff’s last song is greater than the song itself. Sometimes I dream about a song that was based entirely off the whole middle section, like an 80s Metallica TDTNC. That 10% of the song, the middle part, is probably the most moving and emotionally charged piece of music that will have ever come out of that little band called Metallica. The thin clean guitars crying joined in with swells, the drum fill that introduces Lars, the James solo building up into the this distorted outpouring of sadness is truely the shining point of everything before and after.

Don't get me wrong, I like the song a lot, but it doesn't fit the record it's on. Every other song on AJFA is a repeated punch in the face that doesn't let up. While TLITD shows massive growth musically, and hints a bit at where they are going. it doesn't fit the theme of AJFA. You know where it would have fit? Enter Sandman Sad But True Unforgiven Holier Than Thou Wherever I May Roam Of Wolf And Man Through The Never Nothing Else Matters God That Failed My Friend Of Misery To Live Is To Die

TLITD and S&R suffers from the same, amazing midle sections surrounded by mediority. And I still love both songs. Orion captures that middle part perfectly while still being a kick as song from start to finish. Ktulu doesn't have a middle section but it's just awesomeness from the first to the last second.

I love TLITD and S&R. I wish they would play those live and not just the other two instrumentals. Ktulu is easily my least favorite if I'm being honest.

Metallica will either formally announce their last album and retirement, or James/Lars will die.

Talking and whining about all that stuff with each other online has been a part of our fandom for 20 odd years now...that alone will leave a gap in all our lives once it's over.

We'll have to do some sort of thing where we pull a random gig out of a list every week and moan about the setlist.

But think of the money we'll save lol. Metallica’s kids are going to get more money out of me when I’m 55 than the band ever did, if I had to take a guess. Imagine when they release the 12 hour Making of Hardwired cut in 2066.

You Must Burn is a good Kirk solo. Lots of memorable bits and singable parts, and feels really well composed energy-wise.

To me ever since the offcial forums got replaced for the current social media-like forums (I think in 2016) the experience has never been like the good old days.

Tuning room videos also started getting phased out around this time with the 2017 livestreams. The 2003-2015 “online fan service” era of Metallica is sooo synonymous with early internet though. Half the stuff they were doing wouldn’t work now with so many people online. It’s a very good embodiment of that period of the internet.

It’s almost unreal to think that the guys joined the chat rooms and message boards during the St. Anger recording. It was so awesome. Imagine that with the current social media platform, impossible.

But they could very well have a sort of Q&A still, not live -- have fans submit questions, commnets by email, social media or the forums, and the first 20 will be selected, provided they don't get repeated.
