Can’t resist anymore … i find the whole concept of that album so ridiculous and so shallow. I mean, now they want to reconnect with their first years? Their true selves? False selves? Oh my *facepalm* i just can’t… the artwork is just horrible, and the song is just bad. I wouldn’t listen to it again.

It’s such a teenager stepping into adulthood theme that i would expect it from justin bieber or one of those young artists who are having an identity crisis, but not a band like Metallica. Maybe they want to target a younger generation? But i couldn’t sense anything genuine from that whole song/concept. yeah i sound harsh, trust me i am trying to be diplomatic haha

Oh and to answer your question, I didn’t like hardwired at all as well, i put some effort into listening to it a couple of times, but with music I don’t force liking the songs even if i am a big fan of the band, for me, i either connect to the music or I don’t

Instead of talking about the devil, satan or hell. Looking back on those first 18 years from the standpoint of someone in their 60s.

Still jamming to this song multiple times a day. It's a banger, outside of the solo. I gotta admit the solo has grown on me, it's quite fitting actually. Kirk is capable of more, and let's hope he delivers after DM and Hardwired (which only had few quality solos) but after watching some prog metal dude that tried to play a Marty Friedman-esque solo and the mess it was I came to appreciate it more. Haha.

Oh my *facepalm* i just can’t… the artwork is just horrible, and the song is just bad. I wouldn’t listen to it again. I actually agree with this. Artwork is atrocious and overtly simple. The theme is juvenile, especially coming from senior citizens. At the same time, it fits their personalities, specifically Hetfield. He seems like he has a huge issue of letting shit go. He appears to still be hung up on what he feels "fucked him up", which is his upbringing and those "first 18 years". Then again, there are many who go their entire lives attempting to overcome their demons, and sometimes to no avail. Such is life, disappointing at times, like this album so far. Hopefully there are better quality songs on this album. Time will tell. Not holding out on the solos improving, though, IMO tbh...

I don't expect and don't want this band to be writing music about how life is good now that they're older and rich. I think people would be pissed if Metallica dropped "I Love My Kids and my New Girlfriend Rocks" too.

Much more than Hardwired) but the concept of dealing with childhood and how it affects adulthood and whether your ideas about the world or your "free will" as an adult is predisposed or predetermined by what happened to you as a kid on which you had had no control over is fucking amazing theme and one of the better in music in general and very much in line with who James Hetfield has been and fuck whoever disagrees.

Initial thoughts. - Horrible artwork, just horrible. - After 3 run throughs it’s in the top 10 of their worst songs - Not a fan of the album title and number of songs - Tour sounds kind of exiting, will probably buy tix for the Hamburg show - Not a fan of the video, is that white Tama drums or just the light that is fucking with me ? - Again these kind of songs are probably my least favourite kind, I just don’t like anything about it. Not one thing :( It’s oozing with Lords/Lightz vibes, but a lot worse. Riffs are extremely bland, solo awful, lyrics awful, drums plain Lars, is there even one tom hit in there ? Vocals meh. Not complaining though, still very much exited So, it's horrible and top 10 worst Metallica songs with shitty lyrics. But you're not complaining! No, you're very excited!!! LOL.

It took awhile but the cover has grown on me, I think the bright yellow put me off initially. it reminds me of Valentino Rossi's yellow 😯 I have high hopes that 72 Seasons will be better than Hardwired.

My working theory is if you visit this forum regularly, you love this band enough to criticize them as much as you want 😂
Solo still stinks

You are not a fan unless you are a fanatic, where you cannot have any form of criticism. If you criticize in any way, you are being negatively toxic, which then evokes triggering, making you a human paraquat. 🤨

If Jeffrey Dahmer hadn't disected roadkill and stuff like that in his first 18 years, he might not have become a serial killer.
72 seasons is an interesting theme for sure and more 'adult' than hell and damnation.
