I like it much better than Master of Puppets. There's no such thing as objectively better or worse, it's all opinions and tastes.

It was the album that got me into Metallica and I will always love it but I don't know if it is 'better'. They both have 'gems'.

It's obviously the more accessible album, hence it's success. I rarely put on Metallica albums anymore, and if I do, it's usually the 90s stuff, with the exception of Garage Days,that one just always puts me in a good mood.
MOP...one of the greatest albums ever, but... I'm not that into it anymore after all these years and listens. Burnt out on it. MOP the song, forget it, I'll skip to the middle, and jump tracks when the verse kicks back in for the last go.

Yep, Garage Inc gets my vote for best sounding too.
Black album remaster is pretty great though. Never heard some of those songs like that until that boxset

Kind of like all the weird ambient shit on TBA I find on TBA, the ambient stuff is there, but just behind the music, on Garage Inc, it is much more prominent and spaced/panned. All that orchestra work on NEM is next to nowhere, besides those strings during the clean middle lead part. The Sitar on Roam is front and center, that's good, and the wind chimes in Misery stand out, but they feel too much behind the wall music IMO. Loverman or Astronomy feels more like a balanced rainbow of sounds. |

TBA is nowhere near MOP, not even close. I would actually delete 3 or 4 songs from it.
