I was never into Bond films, but have seen most of them over the years except the newer ones. I worked at a video store years ago and my boss was obsessed. We were getting the rereleases of the Bond films on DVDs as they came out and he would play them all day on the screens.
Just flipped through a playlist of all the tracks (-minus 2 or 3 due to copyright) there are some real snoozers in all that.
I'd say "The World is not Enough" captures the old show-toony vibe of the old films the most, while still offering up a modern sound. The Sharyl Crow one is actually something I'd listen to outside of the movie so I'd say that one is my favorite. I had no clue Chris Cornell did one, it was ok, a bit out of place to the 20 others I just skimmed through.
That electronic Madonna one for Die another Day is alright to.
How the Hell did they get away with the title Octopussy back in the day? And what's the story behind that? The bad guy has 8 pussys or something?

I never liked live and let die, feels like a bunch of disjointed pieces of music slapped together. Slash saved the GNR version for me.

Back in the day when they were hyping up the GNR Paris 92 show, our music video station had a commercial which was just 45 seconds of Axl doing his high pitched wails over top the signature lead lick, only it was that 2 second part looped over and over.

Anyone seen the latest Bond film No Time to Die? Any good? Casino Royale was awesome. But apart from that I didn't like any of the newer Bond movies as much as I hoped. Maybe Skyall was alright, I don't remember it well. I'll give it another watch soon Quantum of Solace was crap...Spectre got decent feedback from the viewers but I don't remember it as well. Which one was better? Skyfall (definately better villain) or Spectre? |
