So the email has been sent out to fans asking for content for the next boxsets.
That photo of you hanging with Lars in the motel room would sit nicely in the accompanying book.  From memory that was the correct period yeah?
So what are some of the expectations for this?
I have the singles and demoes, (is there more that have never been shared?) but will be nice to have them all packaged together, but what live shows should included? Shows with the debut of 2x4 and Devils Dance? Woodstock 94?

Sadly not, my pic with Lars is from 2002. But I do have a bunch of other ephemera from that era, so I will definitely be submitting shit. If you get anything used in the project you get a free box!! There's still a ton of demos left for us to here. The only ones released so far are: Load (King Nothing) Streamline (Wasting My Hate) Bleeding Me Bitch (Ain’t My Bitch) Skimpy (Carpe Diem Baby) Outlaw (The Outlaw Torn) F.O.B.D. (B-side to Until It Sleeps single) Mouldy (B-side to Hero of the Day single) The Story So Far (B-side to Mama Said single) Devil Dance (Devil's Dance) Fixer (Fixxxer) Mine Eyes (Low Man's Lyric) Unforgiven II Memory (The Memory Remains) Fuel Fuel for Fire (B-side to The Memory Remains single) Judging from the dates in the email there'll be no Woodstock 1994 but it MIGHT indicate that the Donington 95 show.... And any/all home movie footage from the band! The box will likely not live up to m expectations but we'll see! |

"SEND IT IN!" It said. I feel giddy and nauseous at the same time now. Time to hit the keyboard and take a trip down memory lane 😂.
It would be so cool to be included in this piece of Metallica history.

I've submitted a photo of my backstage pass for a concert in 1998 and a photo of my ticket for the show. the ticket was signed by James and Jason but sadly I made the mistake of putting contact on it to protect it and Jason's sigi came off  |

LOL, I just dug out my ticket stub for my show in 97... $39.50 plus a few bucks service fee. WTF! It's a good ticket to, a few rows up from the floor. Sat in around the same area for Death Magnetic and I think each ticket was around $120.00.😱 I feel like an old man now saying "Back in my day, a loaf of bread cost..."

With phones and everything they would get slammed beyond imagination with content lmao I'd say for the St Anger era it'll be some what like that, a decent phone still really couldn't take great pictures, and videos were still at like 240p and that was insane quality at the time. But, the closer the album release to now, I imagine the less things get lost over time. I was scared to unroll my signed poster tonight after digging it out. Felt like an ancient relic seeing light after so many years rolled up. I almost lost it back around the St Anger summer. I was living with this psyco chick, and on Canada Day Weekend when she was gone, I packed up all my shit and ditched that scene. The one box I forgot had my posters in it, I wanted to puke when I realized what I had forgotten. Luckily, we were still on ok terms, she knew she was crazy and understood my choice. (I also owed her a good chunk of cash for bills though, I used that as leverage to avoid her ripping up my stuff lol). |

I've been dealing with a lot of post submission anxiety actually, weird dreams and all that. Fucking nerves. I will definitely post it here if for whatever reason they don't include it. I put way too much time and effort into it to just let it rot if nothing happens. I need to share it, some how. I think there is so much in it that is highly relatable to every Metallica fan at every level of fandom, and also to any reader, fan or not. I just need it to be out there, and as lame as it sounds, if it's published in the box set, I can feel reassured that my story will live on and it would be something I could look back to years from now and feel proud of. It turned out to be something unlike any "So What" submission I've ever read and is quite the emotional roller coaster. Either way, I can't wait to get it out there. 🍻 |

Yep! I got not one but TWO release forms :D
I sent them stuff back in 2022 when they first put out the call and then again hi year when hey issued a final call. I got release forms for both submissions (although it was the same content).
I dunno if that means my stuff is in or whether they just do a blanket release form for everyone regardless of if they use the stuff or not.
I'd love to be a part of it. Obviously, for the free box but more cos I love this album so much. It was (as I've said many time before) the album of my teens and hit me at just eh right time. So much other stuff was going on in my world and this was the soundtrack to it.
We'll see I guess. I'm hoping that we'll see a late '24 release. Rest assured that when it DOES arrive I will be combing through it (& writing about it) in great.... great detail.

I got one for my submission... both of them. I sent them my stuff back in 2022 when they first asked for it and again in 2024 when they put out that 'last call' email. Both emails got a reply with the release form so that's exciting. But I'm very much tempering my expectations. Obviously I would love to be include in the box, this is a hugely important album for me, so to be a small footnote in the celebration of that would be PHENOMENAL. Of course, if the rumours (?) are true that contributors get a free box then that is amazing too. It would certainly make my bank manager breathe a sigh of relief. We'll see I guess. I'm certainly getting a little heartskip of excitement when I see the red bubble on the mail app in case it's either confirmation that I'm in the box OR that it's the press release for the box. Either way: it'll be in my hands and I can't wait. |

If they wanted something specific I think they would ask for it. Who ever I have been corresponding with told me it took a while because they got hundreds of thousands of submissions. (That's alot of ticket stub photos to go through LoL) Unless they enjoy the punishment of sifting through all that for no reason. |
