I bet they use some of the riffs from LOS in another song lol. Because All Nightmare Long was so bad ROLMAO Well... It was. For my money, maybe the worst song on the album. TDTNC and Judas Kiss are pretty bad also. But hey, it's just me. |

All Nightmare Long is the epitome of the "let's stuff all the riffs in one song regardless if they fit together" disease DM is known for. There's a lot going on in the song, but the different parts never ever sound like they belong in the same song. There's no flow or coherence, it's just all stitched together from leftover riffs. And the lyrics are forgettable at best. All in all, a bad song. Well... It was. For my money, maybe the worst song on the album. TDTNC and Judas Kiss are pretty bad also. But hey, it's just me. TDTNC actually hit me with the most uniqueness when I first heard it. Instantly hooked and still love it. I only speak for the first half of the song though. The second half is..........definitely something else that should not be. |

That Was Just Your Life is definitely one of the best songs on the album, that we can agree on. |

That Was Just Your Life, while being over seven minutes long, is probably one of the tightest arrangements they've done in a long time. It flows really well. I can't really comment too much now on the arrangements though because I've lived with these songs for years now. All Nightmare Long was the one, in 2008, that I felt was all over the place but now I don't feel that way because I've lived with it since 2008.
I still hate that drum and bass groove in Rebel of Babylon though, from an arrangement point of view though.

Yeah. I listed to all 9 albums (in full - previously I had heard all of TBA except My Friend of Misery and The Struggle Within) within a few months, so I might decide differently then you guys. Then again, "Cyanide" was the first Metallica song I ever heard.

I still think My Apocalypse gets a bad reputation though. The Ozzfest version of Cyanide didn't really excitement. The Day That Never Comes mildly excited me. I felt the first notes sounded like a Linkin Park song; but the rest was great. My Apocalypse was the one that got me excited. It was short, sweet, arranged perfectly (in my opinion) and rocked like Damage Inc. A lot of people hate the main riff because of it's simplicity; but look at the Damage Inc. main riff. Very simple as well. |

I honestly don't have a favorite song persay. I do think 'don't tread on me' is epic though. That's just naming one song out of many that I would classify my 'favorites list'
