We're not overdue anything people. We have no idea when the album is out so we cannot say that we should have any information of any sort.
I've said this before: if the album is not due until December turn we won't get info until September/ October. Don't forget Metallica are not beholden to a record company anymore so can make their own schedule.
We'll get information when it's time.

That is not really saying anything, if they want to sell records, which they will, they need to get some kind of hype going on. And yes if it's December it makes sense because of Christmas, but it's still about time they say something. Anything really. I'm still guessing October and a new song at the gig this month

I'm just so curious as to what genres this one will fall under, like where else can Metallica take it? Everyone is hoping for some ground breaking, non rehash type thing, but what does that mean? Where else can they take it? Maybe they'll go for Emocore Dubstep Bluegrass, or something. Industrial Death-Samba? |

It also goes against what they've done in the past. My point is and always will be that people expecting information now are always going to be disappointed. Instead of counting the days with "no news" just forget about the album and get in with other things. Wasting you life away waiting for something is almost as pointless as wasting your life away posting on a message board ;) |

I  you Kimby. But the flaw in that logic is "the closer we get". That's my point. We don't know how close or far we are away from the new album so we can't put a timescale on anything. If we were told it was due in September then we could justifiably say time is getting on and we still have no news, because there is a tangible deadline. But because we don't have one we have no idea whether we should have some news or not. The album could still be 6 months away from release. I too think we'll get it before December but it does depend on the MOP deluxe box I think. If they want to get that out this year it could be tricky having two new Metallica releases in the back half of the year. But who knows! |

Yes yes yes I know that, but I have just concluded that it will be out before, October the latest, so I want some news now I don't care if the MOP box, the book and whatever will be out in the fall to, just gimme dat damn album If they are deliberately delaying the new album because they want the MOP stuff out of the way first, I will burn everything I own with the band and never ever listen to a Metallica song again!!! It would make more sense to release the new album, then the MOP box set at Xmas when people splurge on more expensive things like that. Unless the new album is bad and they want the MOP sales in before the new album backlash and hate train start rolling.

My email was "late" compared to others as well Oren, dont worry, dates give you plenty of time to act if you are going to.
Also in the email is another show announcement. Turns out Metallica are sharing a bill with Rhiana and Selena Gomez and other people I know nothing about
