Just give me a solid release date and an album title. All I need. I so hope they just do a surprise infodump and one Thursday out of the blue we just get 1. Album Title 2. Album Artwork 3. Track list 4. Release Date 5. Date of first single. |

Curious why we haven't heard anything yet. I thought for sure we'd have some kind of announcement before the end of July.
The longer we go with no announcement, the more i think we're looking at a spring 2017 release.

Seriously what is the deal? The album is finished, its been mixed, and likely mastered, wheres the info? If the october 14th rumor is true they aren't leaving themselves much room for promotion compared to previous releases. Im impatient. I want some shred of news concerning the new album.

All I can say is I have zero expectations for this album. It's been too many years. I'm dead inside with Metallica (same with Tool). I'm not the kind of person that is ready to shit on it, I'm open, but, yeah, I'm not holding on tight for this one. Which I think is good.

I'm just so curious as to what genres this one will fall under, like where else can Metallica take it? Everyone is hoping for some ground breaking, non rehash type thing, but what does that mean? Where else can they take it?
It'll have James singing, there will be distorted guitars (hopefully only guitars) there will be some solos with wah, Lars will sound like Lars does. It will probably sound snarly, greasy and groovy. Where else can metal in general go though?
What ever it sounds like, as long as it has lots of soul, and a nice balance between the sadness and anger (and vocal harmonies, bit of reverb etc) I hope it isn't a flop, I just want to see them succeed and put out something worth getting excited for.
Everyday we are getting closer to something, I hope this one is gold. If St Anger was like the whole KEA first album by this band thing, then DM fits in like RTL, so... If this is like no.3, MOP, we will be in for a treat.

Loads of people will probably dislike it, but if it's some groovy stuff I will dig the hell out of it. Imagine Metallica going Down mode From the small clips so far it's sounds more like mid tempo stuff though, but I wouldn't mind that either. |
