TDTNC is not a power ballad. This is a power ballad: This song fucking rules, by the way. One of the best songs ever written. It's amazing.

Of course it does. She's Welsh. Steady on there. She didn't even write it. However - if I could choose to have anyone's singing voice - it would be James Dean Bradfield from Manic Street Preachers. His voice is amazing. He's been screaming his balls off for over 20 years and his voice has IMPROVED over time... WTF

So this rumored Oct.14 date, its making the rounds, if it has any validity, we should get a confirmation any day now from the band me thinks.

Metallica has now joined Nintendo NX as one of my daily Google searches. It has begun.

MUSTAINE WOULD NEVER ADVERTISE CLOTHES!!!!!!!
Nor would he keep a stable line up for longer than 2 years.
Jason Newsted era : 1986 - 2001 = 15 years
Rob Trujillo era : 2003 - now = 13 years
How long is the longest line up of Megadeth ?

@mastodude Why would he not? He's done worse in the past, e.g. growing a moustache and starting to wear wristbands in the early 1992 because Hetfield did so. He could also do with new clothes, I mean that white shirt he's been wearing onstage for years must reek of ginger sweat.
As for the longest line up, I think 1990-1999 (Menza, Fried Man, the pastor).

October 14th huh? Who's the guy who will calculate the release of their first single, first live song, album title/cover/track list, music video. Any guesses if the release is October 14th?

Wasn't it written by Jim Steinman ? sounds like one of his. Yup. Bonnie Tyler was a solid singer, but let's not act like she's the primary reason this song is so great. Also, I don't see any problem with calling Day, Fade etc. "ballads." Yeah, they don't strictly fit the common modern use of the word, but its meaning has constantly been evolving anyway, as words tend to do. Musically and atmospherically they feel like ballads, and honestly that's the most important thing anyway. And this whole ballad argument has been brought up on MetBB multiple times in the past so I doubt anyone's mind is going to be changed this time. People will keep calling these songs ballads because that's just the simplest way to handle it.

Mama Said (at a stretch) is a ballad. The name ballad hasn't really evolved in a musical context in years. I literally don't know (IRL) anyone who would call any of those songs ballads. At all. If we're going down the road of (paraphrase) it's a ballad if it has a melodic, quiet, gentle bit then the following songs are also ballads: Horsemen Phantom Lord FFWF Ktulu Sanitarium MOP Battery TLITD Un/Un2/Un3 MFOM UIS HOTD Bleeding WTWTA S&R

At the risk of beating a dead horse...... The LoS comparisons do not work. All the other covers were recorded for officially released albums (as in, actual proper albums). All the versions of LoS are just, demos. Yes they've "officially released" them, but it's not a proper release. It's akin to the demo B sides from the 90s singles. Yes, it's not great sounding. But then it's not meant to be. They are all clearly labelled as demos and that's what they are. I said it on the last board and I will say it here. In my 24 years of playing the strings, not once have I thought "I'm only having a jam, so I will use the shittest tone I can muster"

Another thing, we all know they fucked up the last record big time with the horrible clipping, but it seemed like the guitar tones where shit to begin with. LOS being a demo and all it's obviously not produced like a regular song but it's certainly been messed with some way or the other. What I'm saying is, the guitar tone on Dm and LOS is so damn thin but when you listen to MissionMetallica or even the isolated guitar track from GH, it's much much stronger. Something is wrong with this picture and I can't understand if it's deliberate or they simply have awful taste/hearing/decision making skills. Something is definitely up. James said he found the best tone ever in the studio this time around, if it's once again weak then I will kill Greg and whoever helped produce this next record.

I'm obviously missing something again. Worked 3rd shift last night so I was tired driving this morning. The radio DJ mentioned chances of winning metallica tickets.? What's up with the concert tickets? Then I swear I heard him say "on the way after the break, we might have new metallica...I can't promise anything though" but it was 'wherever I may roam'. I didn't know if I was just overly tired or what lol. But I do know he was mentioning chances to win concert tickets.

A holes I remember listening to the radio on the promise of a new song by Oasis or someone and they'd play it last in a 2 hour show. Fuckwads. You obviously don't have much faith in your ability to entertain.
