Loved it, Jay. You're such a good writer. I may agree or not with your analysis of the songs but you definitely have a way with words that takes the reader into a trip of emotions and sensations. PS: Are you still in touch with your 2 buddies? Are they still fans of Metallica? Or were Load and ReLoad too much for them to handle?Haha. Wow. Thanks! Oh yes. Graham and Huw are very much still my friends. After this period (96/97) things kicked up a gear majorly for our band and we started writing and recording songs and gigs and all that. Mixed in was hanging out, driving around the city in cars, drinking etc etc We get together on Zoom every couple of weeks to catch up and hang out (they're the UK, I'm in Germany). Awesome as always jayc Not to detract from your amazing work, but there's many subtle typos, and a few random periods Inside of wo.rds 👈 like that, and some words that autocorrect raped a bit. I read up to the memory remains single section, and have to run out to buy an AC unit, but I will read the rest after. If you're feeling lazy, I can DM you some of those I found later ❤️ |

Just read some of the Load part two thingy, wow jayc, you are a really good writer.
I can feel the passion dripping from every sentence, amazing stuff, I will definitely read a lot more when I have the time.
You have exceptional memory too, I normally cannot remember much from back then :-/
But I gotta say, reading some of that stuff kind of opened a void in my drunken brain, which suddenly got filled with memories,
and I constantly thought back to where I was and how I was feeling/thinking at that time. So thank you for that, good read indeed.

So I finally got around to reading the 3 part Load writeup. I waant intending to sit here and read all 3 but hey I'm absorbing the new Maiden album, currently on my 2nd listen. Really enjoyed it jayc. Takes me back to my real passionate days of music worship, lining up for releases and tickets. Laughed at you being the only one at the door 9am...I can relate. Probably shouldnt be total surprise but we share a lot of similar views on Load songs, (Ive always been a bit meh on King and loved Thorn from first listen). Not all similar, I'm one of the rare fans of PTM, love the over the top distortion and vocal. I'm now officially pumped for next deluxe box....cheers, you write good, found it easy reading.  |

Just read your Seventh Son article. Great work JayC. I got that album along with Piece of Mind on casette through Columbia House and therefore for free 😂 seriously, did anyone ever pay those guys?
Great writing as always, does anyone besides us here read your work? It would be a shame if the answer is no. Your writing needs to be out there for all to see. Have you ever thought of narrating it and putting together like a mini documentary style episode with pictures, infographic animations, and B.roll footage? Could reach a whole other audience.
I digress, really enjoyed the read, makes putting the kid's to bed feel less long.

There is a feature in WordPress where you can turn your posts into podcasts but it was automated and, obviously, never sounded natural. Especially as I often write how I would talk. That then led me on to the idea of a podcast.... but I've just not got the time for it. But I do really appreciate your kinds words. I' not sure if anyone other than you and a handful of others read it (from here) but that's ok. |
